Annual FY kickoff via Video Call...several hours sitting with headphones on in front of a screen trying desperately to pay attention and stay awake.

Also...micro-management. Not a fan.

Handsome Dan Has Spoken.
Handsome Dan is also still somewhat perplexed...

Mark:

I'm working from home and thought I'd put the TV on in the background ... wow .. I did not know so much drivel gets spouted out on air in the mornings!

One of the many reasons I've moved away from "public" broadcasting, both TV and radio.  Too many ads or people spouting their opinions on things that I didn't care to absorb.

Eva888:
Left Taupo Motel (pouring rain) entire bottle sans one measure of Barkers Lemon Ginger syrup leaked into boot over everything beneath it.

I'll see your Lemon Ginger and raise you a large bottle of bourbon. :( :( :(

Ha yes, Bourbon maybe pricier, but my sticky sugar syrup wins hands down for ability to soak and cling to the most expensive items of wool clothing. Sigh, am still dealing with the aftermath.

It's a pity the old melontraffickers web site has gone offline, they document what happens when you end up with smashed watermelons in the back of a station wagon...

Is there any wonder NZ has such obesity rates when after every outing with schools, colleges and sports teams the "adults" decide everyone deserves to go to Macca's afterwards ?

I refused to give out player of the day awards when I was coaching kids football because they serve no purpose other than pushing a cheeseburger as a reward.

The number of PMs received today from people asking why I had locked the Trump thread (I did not lock the thread, but locked the entire Politics sub-forum) - despite a sticky on that same sub-forum.

I was actually expecting that. Meant to ask you about it.

I bought a tin of Pringles chips today on a whim, and they are a hell of a lot smaller than I remember... Another company downsizing their product. When I was younger they used to fill the tube... 🙄

'Real' ones are still the same size (as far as I can remember) but the local supermarkets tend to import some cheaper ones from... Malaysia? now.

When you visited the in-laws and they mention their Sony A1 Android TV is not connected to the Internet and nothing is streaming. Sure enough, connected to WiFi again - nothing. Plugged an ethernet cable - nothing.

Factory reset the TV and all connections start working again. But then you have to install app updates, install apps, login again (with a remote control, which is worse than typing a SMS using a T9 keyboard on a small feature phone) and so on...

An hour spent on this today.
