ok Fireworks, but i would love to know how much my neighbour spent because they have been going for 2 hours straight with out a break. It would be quite impressive if it wasnt so annoying.

Friend of mine said her neighbours set of fireworks for three hours straight a year or two back. And she has a dog who doesn't deal with fireworks well...

I knew there had to be a positive to having a 17 yr old dog who is deaf. He used to hate fireworks, thunder etc... now he doesn't even wake up.

Not that I heard or saw a single firework this year but last year my dog got excited and started looking around to see what I’d shot for him to retrieve!

Windows/Microsoft Edge.

I don't use edge so why would I give a sh&- that it's updated, new and improved?

I want my OS updated so it's secure and reliable. I don't care about the rest of your crap Microsoft.

On that note, I have moved to using Microsoft's Chromiun-based Edge full-time a couple of months back. It runs all Chromiun addons (so you can just use the same add-ons you had before on your Chrome) and it offers a few more security features (I particularly like using Application Guard, a browser that runs in a virtual environment separated from your machine and the website security screening).

I believe you that it may be a good product. If I was interested in a different browser I'd research it. I'm just not interested.

I really don't need Windows to spam me after an update with a full screen window with Edge. It's super annoying, I just want to complete the restart and use my computer, not deal with that.

My dog (small and fluffy, not hunting or farming dog) goes to the window to see what all the excitement is about, when fireworks go off.

I took him for a walk in the early evening on Friday and someone was letting fireworks off...he kept tugging at the lead to go and have a closer look!

Trademe drop shipping.

Don't put up an auction saying you are based in Auckland and have 5 available items then say its comming from China and there might be a delay on shipping.

So the items aren't in auckland and you don't havent 5 of them either.

I read this on RNZ news and do not know whether to laugh or cry, to be honest.

"The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment struggled in April with thousands of workers unable to work properly from home.

It identified the lack of secure computer access as a "very high risk".

It has since spent $4.7m on 1000 laptops and equipment, licences and support services."

They really need to change their name - or learn what innovation means. It's pretty difficult to have any faith in government leadership when this kind of thing happens.

Probably doesn't apply to TM - you just have to wait until the last day before it's too late and provide a frowny face emoji

I'm not sure what is causing you to lose faith here.

They identified that the lack of mobility was an issue, and have proceeded to remedy it.

$4.7mill is about $4700 per device, which isn't bad for a lappie, a bag, universal dock, keyboard, mouse, a couple of screens, O365 licence, and the IT project to upgrade to O365 & Teams etc.

My company was already 2.5 years into a 4 year project to upgrade all staff to lappies and move most of our software to be cloudy or mobile/VPN accessible. We ere in a much better position to keep working during lockdown than a lot of places. MBIE have taken rapid steps to improve their situation, at very reasonable price.

The only issue I'd have with it is that the Ministry of "Innovation" is somewhat behind the 8-ball compared to some other Govt Depts who were already well set up for remote working etc and the move to WFH during lockdown was not really that much of a big deal.

Really?

You do not think that they should have had the capability some time ago like the rest of us? To me it smacks of poor planning, out-dated work practices and a complete lack of innovation.
