The other plates were OK, and the replacement one was OK, so other than being perturbed by the lack of reaction, and the fact our food had just been served and I had two hungry kids, it wasn't the hill I wanted to die on :)

But I also think it should be a requirement for all cellphone owners to have a hands free kit in their car in some sort if manner. Ie part of wof and being found with a phone in car without car kit should be fined in them selves.

We have shown that we can't act like adults on this issue. I saw 4 drivers with phones within 1km of walking this evening.

When I misread the menu and order Popcorn Chicken and what turns up is chicken Popcorn!!! $5 no less! This isn't something you charge for, it's something you provide on the table like popadoms at an Indian restaurant!!!

Gotta disagree on this one. When I get maybe one call a week, why should I need to pay for a kit that I'm virtually never going to use? Don't punish the rest of us due to the actions of a few.

Most of our brains can't handle both driving and talking well - we mentally prioritise the phone conversation.

This occurs whether you're holding the phone or not. We can't just block moving phones so it seems we're back to needing some enforcement to keep everyone compliant through fear.

It's not often you see cops round doing enforcement though, of any kind.

Most of the posters in this thread are just like chimpanzees on MDMA, full of feelings of bonhomie, joy, and optimism. Fred99 8/4/21

Why do you need to creep forward into the gap? I like having space between me and the car in front.

Maybe I've been listening too much to South African friends who always leave a large gap at lights, so that they can take off quickly if it looks like they'll be carjacked.

Assumptions. People make them about other people based on incomplete data. This is human nature. Everyone does it. But it irks me slightly when my decisions about my life are questioned on the basis of other people's incorrect assumptions. I'm not really interested in delving into personal details to satisfy prurient curiosity on a public forum. But I do what I do for a reason, and it is usually one I have devoted some thought to. People need to just accept that. Simple curiosity is okay. Value judgements are not.

People who are cheap and want to whinge about someone else because they have buyers remorse.

If you can't be bothered to do your own due diligence don't whine when you find out you could have bought whatever product or service much cheaper from another supplier.

I always leave a gap - tyres n tarmac goes the saying but as above some people leave the gap of a small car then slowly inch forward into it. If I didn't move forward I'd risk inviting someone to overtake me and park into the gap!

Similarly where you get the weirdos that can't help themselves but inch forward every few seconds as if the car is busting to go for a piss

I dislike when people stop at lights so close behind me that I can see the interior of their car. If anyone crash into you from behind you will be pushed into the car in front of you. Let that space there as a buffer.

That's exactly what I am talking about. But if anyone comes too close behind me, to the point I can see their face in detail on my mirror, and I roll just a few centimetres forward, it's not an invitation to come closer. Is a sign to stay the hell away.
