Electronics that state the battery is low but when you check it on a battery tester it's safely in the green zone!

Not sure if you really wanted it or were just making a statement but here it is:

I'm pretty sure he was serious, and I definitely want to sign it. It's abusing the status of churches and other charitable organisations when someone cynically sets up a "church" purely to finance their own lavish lifestyle and fleece the vulnerable.

MadEngineer: get a mate to ring them and make a booking, then ask actually can I cancel and can you uphold the voucher purchase

They haven't turned up twice without notifying me so can't really be bothered attempting to organise a 3rd date. Hopefully get the refund sorted (haven't had a reply from Treatme yet) then find someone else to do it.

Depends on the electronics, some devices will work off anything you put in them, others are very, very finicky. For example there seems to be some requirement that non-contact voltage detectors only work with fully-charged 1.5V cells, several I've tried won't even power on with NiMH's. EEVBlog did a teardown a while back and I think they used a 74HC14, he even dug up patents for NCVs which used an MC14584 which has a minimum voltage of 3V, so anyone copying the (long-expired) patent will end up with a circuit that, if fed a fully-charged NiMH AA-replacement battery, won't even turn on.

I'd find a way of leaving a very negative review - stating only the facts - to warn others. They sound terrible.

I suspect Transmission Gully will simply be a failure. More people will think "Oh, it's ok to drive to Wellington now" and traffic from Porirua to Wellington will just grow a large amount in the morning and more cars will pile up in the city.

I guess it depends on your definition of success or what problem you're trying to solve. If more people are able to drive from the Kapiti Coast to Porirua in less time, I'd say that's a success. The inability or unwillingness of Wellington City to plan is not the fault of the Transmission Gully planners. And of course it should make an improvement to the evening rush hour, because there shouldn't be a bottleneck at the other end.

But there's always latent demand for motorway improvements.

Thanks. Had a look on nocowboys.co.nz and found some similar experiences posted about them so have done that too. Note to self to check on there before booking someone new next time.

Had the refund approved by Treatme now too so all good in the end.

Opening the boot of my wife's car and discovering a "little bit of moisture".

Lifted the floor of the hatch and the spare wheel well was full to the brim with water!

Pulled everything out, yanked out the bung and got all the water out, but it's clearly been in there a while.

Have dried it as much as possible, but finding the source of the leak is proving to be difficult. No tell-tale signs of leakage.

Does the car have a sunroof? That's where my leak was from. Not the sunroof itself but the drainage channels that run down the A and C pillars, one of the PTFE tubes was blocked.

No sunroof. Seals all seem to be dry and properly seated. I am guessing it could be tail light seals.

If there is no obvious sign of it coming through the hatch but it is pooling in the spare wheel well then the tail lights would be my next bet too.

Pretty common way for water to come in on old Hondas too.

I had same with my Toyota Caldina. Found leak was coming from roof gutter channel and entering at a point directly beneath where the roof rails attach to the car roof body. Had to prise up rubber trim a little under the roof rail foot and filled it with silicone. Apparently common issue with the Caldina.

Surface rust had already developed in the wheel well so had to get that fixed.

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.
