NZ Herald Article on Bullets Fired underwater travelling slowly

I don't get it...how is this suddenly news?

Mythbusters proved this conclusively quite some time ago.

Mythbusters episode 34 - Bulletproof Water

Come on New Zealand herald...do some research instead of just reposting some other news agency's drivel.

They're already drafting tomorrow's front page. "Standing in the rain makes you wet"

I eagerly await the Herald article explaining what happens when two spheres with different masses are dropped from the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

They could fill the entire weekend edition with that sort of reporting!

+1 for the irony that your joke probably took as little effort as the reporting.

That is what happens when memos and social media sites are "news sources". This factoid appeared a couple of days ago as a viral video and obviously NZ Herald pays too little to have good journalists.

The DomPost is bad too.

Nothing wrong with the odd interest story. News does not need to be all death and mayhem or geeky stories.

Give them a break, they are just trying to lower their standards to compete with Stuff.co.nz

To their defence there are probably a number of kids or Physicaly challenged folk (physics not extra chromosomes) who would not know this.

So repeating it every 4-5 years would have an educational aspect.

There are probably many who don't know about balls falling from the tower of pizza either. (plus moon landing)

?How much compulsory science do kids currently do ?
