Has anyone else recently got a ticket for 55km in 50km zone? I now know 3 people including my mum who has got one in the last 2 - 3 weeks

It's only a $30 fine but the police seem to be dishing them out more

What part of NZ?

Would it be part of the zero tolerance policy during the holidays?

For my money, it's another form of taxation, but you could argue that if you don't speed you won't have an issue...

not recently, but I did nearly get rear ended when slowing down for one that was pretty obvious from ages away around here last week.

I got a ticket recently, first time in ages.  Thought I was under the 4km/hr tolerance at 72 but turned out I was still in a 50km/hr zone :(

That 50km/hr zone stays in place for miles as you head north out of Otorohanga in the Waikato.  Roads wide as and all the houses are off driveways back up off the road.  Caught me by surprise.

Yeah the speed limits can be strange given the circumstances.

My first ticket ever in 20+ years of driving was three weeks ago doing 59, apparently, on Apollo Drive. I don't think I was on Apollo Drive that night but it's possible, and as it was only $30 I didn't argue.

You could try not speeding, 50km is not a target you know. 50 is the limit

Try living in wainuiomata. 3 cameras in 4km. We even have surveillance cameras watching the speed camera due to vandals. Keeps you on your toes constantly checking speed. I

Well, as I said, first ticket I've ever had, and I've been driving for 20+ years, so generally, no, I don't speed.

My safety warning system often goes off in Apollo Drive, so it's likely the 'man in a van' was there same time as you were. I've seen that van all over the Shore recently, especially East Coast Road going north from Tristram Ave

The police announced a 4km/h tolerance before Xmas....through the summer. That's probably it.

Isn't Wanui a local focus for boy racers in the Hutt?
