Ah, Honduras. Where you're 29.69% less likely to be unemployed, but make 84.21% less money. Where you're 84.3 times more likely to be murdered, and it's unlikely your killer will be caught as he's only 2.08% more likely to be in prison.

I've found the ideal home for any member of the Greens. Western Sahara.

They would use nearly 100% less electricity and nearly 90% less oil. That's assuming they made it out of infancy.

When they say more money do they mean more purchasing power? Or more dollars?

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but this service just gives you comparison of official statistics data which is bullsh*t for countries with high level of corruption, where statics is just made to numbers. I compared my home country with NZ and can confirm that.

Yeah, nah. Out of all those stats, the only really troubling one is income. Solve that problem by working for an American company.

Bonus points if you're into gambling. Being paid in USD means that your salary can alternate from "Better than New Zillund" to "Bloody awesome" (and all parts in between).

I expect it's just "dollars", not adjusted / PPP.

Of course it's a crude comparison.  For lack of anything else easy to access, then it's actually (IMO) a good starting point to then look for more data.

So what's your beef with stats for NZ vs your home country?

Yeah true, gambling in the states must be fantastic, it's such a poor show here in NZ.

Well, it states that :

I'll spend 91.11% less money on health care. Officially, probably. That's because people pay directly to doctors pocket. Childbirth, for example, cost about $500-$1000 usd. Officially maximum about $45 USD

Use 57.26% less electricity. Because people use lots of natural gas for cooking and heating. Yeah, and stealing electricity.

Experience 22.1% less of class divide. He-he. Sure, richies hide all their money off-shore (mostly Cyprus) and never show them. Also, poor people cannot even have a change to study in prestige universities (too high bribe to get in). Also rich people are never go to jail for example if they kill somebody while were driving drunk (they call it "buy license to kill"). That's all kind of class divide that is hard to measure, but is very obvious in everyday life.

Make 75.66% less money. That's one looks true for most of people. And again, many people just hide their income.

Also, this site compares absolute numbers e.g. (USD spent in both countries). If they factor-in average income, that will change money related picture significantly.

However, social metrics (like life expectancy) reveal picture much better.

Switzerland might be better if you are worried about Russia and what they might do.. :) But neither place is easy to move to if you don't have a passport in a country belonging to the European Union/EEA.

Mind you, looking at this I do wonder why I moved from Norway to New Zealand.

Oh, thats right. Now I remember. The weather: Winters with -20 to -30 degrees, lots of snow, ice and the associated crap. I think I will stay here. :)

nice site, the red and green colour coding is obviously hard to give the correct impression for very differently developed countries though..

compared to the Gambia, I would spend 99% less money on healthcare.  great!

except that is because there are no doctors.. not so great..
