Getting asked for ID is but a very distant memory.

Getting asked for ID is cause for a humorous response.

I was in New World Khandallah a while ago, my wife put some wine on the checkout and the operator hadn't looked up at all yet.  He started saying "do you have any ID" and then looked up and immediately said "oh it's ok you're old people".

I'm about to turn 40.  My wife is 37.  I nearly decked the kid lol.

You are gonna go to bed at the usual time on New Year's Eve. This is more to do with having a kid!

Or today when I noticed a horrific thing with a part of my body, needs ironing!!  Popped balloons came to mind.

I'm no dermatologist but suggest using a cold iron only.

When you go to sleep in 2018 and wake up in 2019 grumbling about the neighbour's overnight firecrackers.

You have 6 beers over NYE and go to bed at 12.05...  and wake up feeling worse than you did when you were 20 and partied until 7am.

When your child comes home with a marked exam paper at it has an "E".

You start giving your lecture to them when they interrupt and say "Dad, you do know that E means Excellence"?

Doh.

... and the RNZAF Sunderland flying boat based at Hobsonville taxiing under the Harbour Bridge, NAC DC3s and the de Havilland Herons that flew provincial routes.

Not to mention the TEAL Lockheed Electras that flew the Tasman out of Paraparaumu, pre-Rongotai.

And that Whenuapai was Auckland airport pre-Mangere.

I remember and actually saw all this.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

^I saw all this too.. only at Motat sorry.

I remember the amphibians landing at mechanics bay.

Coincidentally there's a light amphibian sight seeing plane running from the viaduct now.
