Never been into "new years resolution" nonsense, but I deleted all my browser bookmarks to the herald and will not be visiting that website this year (except when rickrolled by other 'news' articles)

"President Trump takes office"

Gotta be the dumbest headline in history.

Depends on where he took it. On holiday, perhaps?

Not necessarily a dumb headline, but IMO this article

 http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz-herald-local-focus/news/article.cfm?c_id=1504150&objectid=11786151

is poorly written and amateurish overall. The writer seems seems to have no idea what she's writing about.

At one point it says: "The 230 horsepower pistol radius engine is very loud - but can reach speeds of 400 kilometres per hour".

- The aircraft has two engines
- They're radial piston engines, each producing about
- 1,200 horsepower
- The engine doesn't really 'reach speeds' - the aircraft does.

DC3's are not particularly 'rare' - there's a lot of them still flying worldwide - and this plane is not really 'one of the last surviving'.

Not a headline, but a cute typo in the Herald:

The walk has been no easy feet for Mr Lee with wild weather closing in on several occasions.

You mean that chemistry that slowly boils in your stomach and then rises in your gorge before expelling from your mouth?

Reminds me of Simpsons. Quoting from memory: "Mr Burns was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was then transferred to a better hospital where they upgraded his condition to 'alive'."

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere in this epic thread, but do we have any half-way decent media/journalism sites or publications in NZ? Be keen to find something covering National and local issues and items of interest with some kind of intelligence and wit...

There are actually several smaller ones but RNZ is probably your best bet.
