Australia will eventually bite the bullet in 10 or 15 years time and decide that they need FTTP, and one of the reasons will be the comparison with "How fast the speeds are in NZ".......

It's a real shame. Malcolm Turnbull is an incredibly technically astute person and I'd put money on the fact that that compromised NBN he pushed while Abbott was PM was in no way his idea and I bet in pained him greatly having to do it.

 

Now he is PM but this, and many other things he is basically being held to ransom by the conservative wing of his party who still retain a lot of control.

 

I hope for everyone's sake that he's able to start making his own agenda, including on NBN - I think he will do the right thing when he has the political environment to do so.
