How fast do bank card rates update? Real-time 24/7?

I'm flying into London today and want to know if I'm going to reap the benefit on my Kiwibank Mastercard purchases and ATM cash withdrawal while NZ sleeps.

Real time... Well, every 5mins on average IIRC. So sorry you're out of luck.

You could buy something like a cash passport and load it up with british pounds when the rate is favorable but still you never know what the future brings.

Yeah, but buying on a NZ credit card while Scott's in the UK tonight should be good. It will be charged and converted at the current rate as at tonight.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.

Exzachary! More beer!

Just wondered if it was a daily update, only on business days, during business hours, or similar sort of thing.

You should be able to see your purchases in the kiwibank app in real time. It updated in real time last time I was in the States. From memory I could see the NZ dollar total but not the exchange details. If you can't read the amounts any more it is time to stop drinking!

Credit card hasn't been, available balance drops but that's all for a day or 3.

Thanks for the tip :-)

I recently purchased an item from Amazon UK, with my ANZ credit card in GBP. The purchase showed instantly on my online banking, however a few days later the charge was changed to a very slightly different rate, not worth complaining about but it was changed.
