So I got an email from the Warehouse Stationery today advertising for the 'Seagate 1TB Expansion Portable Hard Drive' for $95.00 when from the Warehouse they are selling the the same item for only $89.00.

Don't the warehouse even check what the other is selling and make sure they are selling at the same price?

Yeah pricematch at warehouse stationary is a great thing when they have something you want and an evil place like harvey norman has it cheaper.

I don't think they are the same company. One is blue the other red.

Swype on iOS is detrimental to accurate typing. Apologies in advance.

I believe they are different, but owned by the same parent company.

Here is another example of pricing problems, comparing the price of these two identical items at the two stores.

http://www.warehousestationery.co.nz/product/B218432.html#q=surge+protector&start=1

http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/red/catalog/product/Philips-8-Way-1.8m-1772J-Surge-Protector-Black?SKU=1955459

Warehouse is charging 5 time what warehouse stationary is selling the item for. Also the regular price at warehouse stationary is nearly 3 times less that the warehouses regular price is currently.

I think it's pretty standard for subsidiaries to be run as separate companies (technically they are separate companies, right?) to the point where they literally compete with each other, so one wouldn't expect their pricing to match?

Both companies (THE WAREHOUSE GROUP LIMITED and WAREHOUSE STATIONERY LIMITED) have the same addresses:

Registered Office

Level 8, 120 Albert Street, Auckland , New Zealand

Address for service
Level 8, 120 Albert Street, Auckland , New Zealand

My Mistake that's just BDO.

That could be the address of their accountant, so could be the address of multiple companies.

The Warehouse Group also owns Noel Leeming. What price are their hard drives?
Separate businesses within the same group. As suggested above, use Warehouse Stationery's 5% price match to do even better.

Just poor service and a depressing interior that looks like a non maintained mid 90's office building for the one near me in wairau.

And a totally insufferable owner in Gerry Harvey.

Forgot about that. Anyway, I only go in there to get depressed and prices on things to take across the road to warehouse stationary or noel leeming to match. JB isnt that good for getting prices to have matching done from since they have high ones on the shelf and will only verbally give you the real ones.
