So... The walking dead.

How did you enjoy the last episode last night?
Id definitly say it was on the more ruthless side of things. Probably the most gore i have see on TV in a while and TWD for that matter.
No spoilers please but the recent occurrances will deifnitly have a long lasting effect on the crew.
Also i feel a bit of De Ja Vu here...
First the Jail, Farm house, The first village place before it went to cr4p and now this one which is now gone.
It will be interesting over the coming weeks. Im sure there is some revenge planned! But lets see how they will cope when he comes to collect.

Cheers

Having read the comics (well up to about number 105ish), it made for a very tense scene (you know the carl one "just do it dad"). was like the governor from the comics.

Made the Westworld episode last night kinda meh in comparison (which is also a great show, but boy s7e01 of TWD was amazing).

I nearly got the "you are it" ;) (the smile face is a hint to what I didnt expect).

Surely 'he' won't collect, his minions will?  I getting little over TWD because of this cycle of finding and losing sanctuary.  I guess that is probably what a post apocalyptic world would be like, but I'm finding it an inadequate reason for the story to continue.  I'll give it a couple more episodes but I'm wavering.

I was like that, but after s7e01, I'm hooked again.  JDM seems like a great villain.  FTWD I'm pretty bored of.  I got tired of the bulletproofness of the main characters, in the comics the main line up changes all the time because they die, but in the TV show, some could escape impossible situations (the whole Glenn thing last season was stupid).

Sorry also forgot to mention in the De Ja Vu section about the Governor haha. Getting repetitive now.
Personally i was hoping Coral lost that arm, Seems to lack a decent amount of logic.

Whats this westworld you speak of?

Also FTWD i found it to be really crap and didnt really enjoy the first 2 episodes. Is it worth it?

Found on reddit just then

Westworld is the new HBO show.  Anthony Hopkins is in it (never seen him in a TV show before).  Based on a 70s movie.  People are calling it the new GoT (completely different setting/story but same high production value and good story).

I thought Rick lost the arm in the campervan when JDM slammed the axe down at first (his arms were out of shot for what seemed like ages).  Then I thought he was going to cut his own arm off to save carl.  alas, that was disappointing, but very intense to watch.  Coming from the comics, and having known he lost his arm in issue 36ish, I'm always expecting him to lose it :)

Well, I can honestly say that was the darkest episode of TV I've watched, maybe ever. I didn't enjoy that one little bit and if it keeps up, I don't see me continuing to watch it.

I was more gutted by The Red Wedding.

But it was just more of the same. It was a lot of people that died that were central characters, but it wasn't the same dark dark tone I didn't think.

The new bad guy is some kind of evil.

I can see how it would put some viewers off and stop them from watching, and thats your choice.  But it had the opposite effect on me.  I'm enjoying seeing how dark/bad society can go and what will happen because of it.   They have to defeat him somehow and that will be interesting IMO.

its just tv and its fake, so I can watch it because of that.  But yes, this stuff would likely happen IRL too (well except the zombies), watching the news puts me more off than TWD.

It was better than I was expecting.

Given the cliffhanger last season it seemed that if they followed the comic books it would not be at all of a surprise what happened, and if they didn't it would have been a cop out. But they managed to lull you in to a false sense of security and then pull the rug out.

Having read the comics I am hoping they don't drag this story line out for too long (it seemed to stretch out too long in the comics). I think a single season would be sufficient, but I'm quite sure they will stretch it out to two.

Only have to wait another year between the seasons and forget virtually everything about the last one :)..

Where is the best place to read the comics? I wouldnt mind starting them.

Yeah it's an excellent distribution technology!
I'll purchase the comics and receive them via the torrent download option.
Cheers!
