The old logo was quite conservative and represented Mediaworks as a leader in news and current affairs where their rivals TVNZ, NZME and Fairfax had been going down the tubes for some time. Their new logo is all over the place, and represents the unstoppable decline that Mark Weldon spearheaded.

I was always loyal to Mediaworks, Canwest and their predecessors as I considered them to be industry leaders and pioneers, but those days are over. I am not interested in entertainment content and the only quality news and current affairs left on TV3 is taxpayer funded The Nation - I no longer watch anything else.

Fortunately we have a resurgent Radio NZ and the gradual launch of Mark Jennings' promising new project Newsroom. This replaces the news and current affairs that I used to enjoy from 3News, Campbell Live and 3rd Degree.

Worse than the logo is the icon for making the video full screen ... it took me a while to click on it, because to me it indicates that it's going to open a new window ...

Now I know what all the people trying to make that a hashtag were on about... Talk about brand fail...

I must be off my game today. It took me way to long to realize that was satire!

Who's to say it is satire? It seems pretty close to the truth to me.

And they've moved it from the bottom of the top to ensure they damage as much of your screen as possible.
