If the dispute was via the disputes tribunal, and they awarded it, then you can apply for them to have the court collect which throws it into the justice system - and they wont much around collecting.

 

 

The last bit is not true. I have won at Disputes Tribunal, and paid the extra money to get the court to collect. I gather they went to his house, was told he no longer lived there, and did essentially nothing else. Had the same experience with a couple of tenants who did a runner owing rent.

 

 

What was the outcome? Did you chase the courts and they chased him?

 

 

The Court asked me where he was living now, and what assets he might have. If I couldn't tell them, they weren't going to look. Of course, I have no idea about this thief's whereabouts or anything else. On the plus side, this stays live for ever. One day I'll find him on FB or wherever and sic the court back onto him.
