Over the years I've bought many pairs of Levi's directly from levi.com shipped via youshop.

This morning after many failed attempts at using various payment methods I came across this line in their new T&C's

Levi’s® doesn’t currently ship to U.S. territories, international reshippers, or businesses that forward packages to international addresses.

This is a very disappointing and hopefully doesn't become too widespread.

Amazon still sends Levi's to Youshop though. They have a good range (not sure about prices though, but I've always found them way way better than buying here in NZ).

I don't see how they can block all reshippers. That would be like playing whack-a-mole. It isn't hard to acquire anonymous-sounding mail addresses in the USA. For example, https://www.reship.com. Even UPS has a dropbox reshipping service though Levi might pick up on them, but if you search a little you may find anonymous addresses as well.

Levi.com often have 30% or even 40% off but amazon or zappos are still an option.

I tried to buy last month and got a payment declined message - despite putting an authorisation on my card for a couple of weeks. I tried PayPal and got the same message (and the authorisation is still there, almost a month later!)

I was going to retry after the PayPal auth disappeared but I'm not sure whether I should bother now. Not sure why it's any of their business which country I'm in anyway!

Thanks for the tip about Amazon.

I get what you mean.

No need to say, there is an ongoing global battle about whose pocket your money ends up in. ie,  yours, or , the mans.

And, the man in NZ is not happy with levi.com.

They probably have an agreement with a distributor here in NZ that makes them more money than shipping directly.  We've found with other manufacturers that suddenly opened up an NZ specific site or started being sold here that the main website would refuse to ship; there prerogative as they own the product, just disappointing.

Their profit margins in NZ are vast.

I bought four pairs in Maceys last year when I was in LA and paid about $40 a pair for jeans retailing for $150 pair in NZ...! But it's just the 15% GST that makes NZ retail uncompetitive, as we know...!

The war with reshippers is an old one - it was actually pretty common in the pre YouShop days.

I really only ever buy clothes from US outlet malls which helps when I'm over there a few times per year. I really like Calvin Klein non iron shirts, and got another 6 when I was there from their outlet mall store for about US$14 each (+ tax).
