Last day of real work for the year.
I say real work as I'll still be checking emails and firing up the laptop as required over the break. Would love to have a proper disconnected holiday some day.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

Who'da thought Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, and Marilyn Manson were geeks?
Geektastic: Paying off the mortgage tomorrow.I had a similar experience today. Renewed my mortgage, accepted the lowest fixed rate and dragged the repayment slider all the way to the right for the quickest result. What was supposed to be a 30 year mortgage could be paid off in a total of 20. Was originally split 50/50 floating+fixed but the floating balance is already very positive so no interest there.
Update: Just got the confirmation from the solicitors. It’s a bit of a state of normlessness not to have to pay rent or mortgage payments, which I’ve been doing for 30+ years.
Very strange. Nice. But strange.
That'll all change when we build a new garage however.

Yes; that is always the issue. We could use a large American barn type building but I suspect there would be little change from $100,000 by the time we finished doing that and having just repaid a prodigiously large sum to the bank I am enjoying not having to think about doing that again - for now, at least!
Finding a new musical artist!
Jordan Smith, looking at you, how did I not know about you before?!

These BBQ's that MF keeps telling us about might be worth thinking twice about when the guilt-edged invitation arrives...

More of a Jeffrey Smith man myself.
