A Danish artist loaned 534,000 kroner ($116,106) in cash to recreate his old artworks using the banknotes has pocketed the money and sent back blank canvasses with a new title: "Take the Money and Run".

When 4 people who have been missing for nigh on 3 weeks are found (turn up) alive and well.  Particularly the nippers.

I do have a certain urge to give the dad a virtual slapping for all the stress and heartache he must have caused his loved ones though. And to get him to pay for the search and rescue operations that eventuated.

A simple phone call to someone along the lines of "We're fine, I've got the kids, we're going bush for a little while" would have been all that it took.

Visited @michaelmurfy up the coast for brunch and a stop at a local bottle store, seeing I've finished both my Lagavulin Distiller's Edition and Glenmorangie 18 Year Old bottles this week. Having an interesting chat with the owner and being gifted a bottle of Chianti after buying a couple of whisky bottles and a Port bottles.

I'm sure I'd be smiling after '18 bottles this week'...

Oh, you mean 'Glenmorangie 18' not '18 bottles ? oops 😀

If I drunk 18 bottles of Glenmorangie in a week I would not only be extremely happy all the time but also extremely poor.

Finally got my youngest son to get his vaccination done.

His needle-phobia is worse than mine and even under the influence of drugs, with an anesthetic patch on and knowing it had to be done, it took 10 min of gentle coaxing to get him out of the car.

We went to a chemist on Auckland's North Shore, where I know they are quiet at night (yes they are open until 10pm 7 days) and the vaccinator was amazing. Same person that did mine. He set up a little "bed" for him out back and got him to sit and then lay down. He waited patiently and didn't get annoyed while my son had a 15min freakout, but simply stayed put just off in the distance enough to be unnoticed, but present.

Finally, when it was all calm enough, he administered the vaccine quickly, painlessly and professionally. He called us heroes, for doing our part for the community, despite the obvious discomfort, but I think he's the hero. I overheard the chemist across the way say in passing that they had done 240 shots that day. And still this incredible human had the patience to just wait quietly and devote his whole attention to a 14 year old boy that really needed help to get through what was a very traumatic time.

That made me smile.

This pandemic has bought out the very best, and the very worst in people.

Fantastic work in getting yours done despite your phobias. Your son is awesome and you can tell him I told you so :) (even though he doesn't know me).

Very well done to your youngest, @Handsomedan. So very cool. Well done also to yourself. Damn fine effort. I agree with the vaccinator, you're both heroes, as is the vaccinator.

Keep calm, and carry on posting.

Good on you, Dan - and your son. I've read your previous posts about struggling during lockdown. To get yourself and your family through it is a huge effort - for everyone - and then to work your way through a phobia, followed by helping your son through his - absolute champion.

The pharmacist is right, you're a hero.

Maybe consider a quick note of thanks to the vaccinator ?

Letters of complaint outnumber letters of thanks unfortunately.

This is a great idea and I had thought of that...I will follow through on it, as I think a little praise goes a long way these days.
