Discovering after 4 months of ownership that my lawnmower's got headlamps.

Pays not to read the manual too thoroughly so there're some pleasant surprises down the line!

So you missed them badly when mowing in the dark? ;-)

heh this is the thing - got it in summer, and hadn't mowed for several weeks because a) of rainy weekends and b) grass grows slowly now - so finally got round to it at dusk.

Got two possums in 3 days using a Timms trap. Actually 2.2 possums - one was a pup.

This is in suburban Glenfield ( Auckland), and no bush or reserves around. Plenty of mature trees though.

Purchased and setup on Saturday, caught Sunday, and Monday nights. On one piece of apple.

Is that thing cat safe tho?

I have been leaving 2 Timms set for the past 5 or 6 years. Only 8 possums and 1 hedgehog. The neighbours cats show no interest in the traps with apple in them. Not that it would worry me, they'd fit the same sized hole in the ground. I did shift them above hedgehog reach.

Not having to post in the 'what annoys you' thread because my shoelaces are about to snap, I actually remembered to buy new ones to prevent this catastrophe.

God created other animals that taste like chicken, but aren't.

People who use the name of a small North Canterbury townshipin the title of their thread.

And, even though you know it's meant as an abbreviation, you can never unsee it.

Oh wait, this isn't the "annoys me" thread...

5 minutes of my life searching google maps, for place names that meet above criteria for never unseeable abbreviation.

I did that yesterday. I was hoping that more information would be forthcoming, but as of yet, nothing.
