Pulp Fiction. Hadn't watched it for a long time. 10/10 It's got everything.
Independence Day........... 3/10. And thats only because some of the FX were alright. (Note: I said "some")
Story was all over the place, no flow to it, characters with back stories that you didnt need to know, bad editing, sound was crap (and I dont think it was the cinema, think it was just the soundtrack itself was done on the cheap), re-hash plot of the original really.
Avoid unless you're drunk and someone else is paying and you need a snooze.

Well I'm going to jump on the bandwagon for the Independence Day hate train I probably wouldn't rate it a 2 or 3 but yeah I remember the first being something that drew you in and you got quite excited for and enjoyed the experience. This one fails miserably at that. The only thing I thought was really well done was the aliens looked damned good up close. I think some has to do with 3 of the originals characters were made out to be blubbering idiots who really could have done themselves a bigger favour by not starring in the movie.
The Dark Horse a NZ Movie. A true life story about Genenis Potini a Brilliant but troubled NZ Chess champion finds purpose by teaching underprivileged children about the rules of Chess and Life.
2014. Starring Cliff Curtis and young James Rolleston ( From the movie Boy)
Got good rating and well deserved to Id say. Genesis had a Mental Health history as well so this piqued my interest.
James is certainly another good up and coming actor.
A Must see as its a NZ Movie.

Went and saw Independence Day 2 today Imax 3D. I liked it 5 / 10. Holes all thru the story line but a + for Imax 3D and their sound system. Pity no NZ theater does this sort of presentation before the movie.

Went and saw Independence Day 2. It was a solid 2/10 and that's only for some glitzy special effects I enjoyed. Movie itself is not great.
But the tickets were free so mustn't grumble... though if I'd had to pay for them I'd be asking for my money back!
Saw that yesterday.
What a Bugger's Muddle. The person who edited that film wants shooting. 2/10 on a wet rainy afternoon if your TV is broken, your Blue Ray player broken, your internet connection down and you have read every book in the house...
Has director Roland Emmerich ever made a movie that wasn't just a mindless popcorn flick? Not that I can recall.
Mindless popcorn flicks are amongst my favourites but this was very far from a good example of one of those!
Batman v Superman: Ultimate Edition is like a completely different movie, in that it actually makes sense and is kinda good.

I didn't see the theatrical version, but watched the Ultimate Edition last night.
Not a great movie in my opinion. I thought stylistically that Batman was well done, but that's about it.

Yep so imagine that but much, much worse. That's the theatrical version.
Watched the original Independence Day (Extended Edition) for the first time in years. Still a classic. How a big budget popcorn movie should be.
Done mostly with practical effects and green screen, it actually holds up very well.
Stands the test of time as a standalone feature, that had zero need for a sequel!

It costs a little more, but if I like something enough to buy it I'd prefer the physical media.

Watched Green Room last night. Quite good, but some some quite graphic violence/gore if you are put off by such things.
Patrick Stewart as the leader of a Neo Nazi group... I'm not sure how committed he was to the role as he played it like he was Patrick Stewart who just happened to also be the leader of a Neo Nazi group.
