I am Mother . netflix
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6292852/

8/10
Human raised by robots . You never quite know what the ~truth~ of the backstory actually is , untill the very end .
Gets a bit hollywood towards the very end , but a ending that adds some questions .

Similarly named, but otherwise entirely different: Mother, Android

Boring.

Set in some sort of post-apocalyptic future where the androids have taken over the earth. A pregnant girl and her partner try to make it to a safe zone.

It's slow, too long and boring. And quite predictable.

Rewatched a couple of my very favourites both 10/10 from my own DVD's

Léon: The Professional - 12-year-old Mathilda is reluctantly taken in by Léon, a professional assassin, after her family is murdered. An unusual relationship forms as she becomes his protégée and learns the assassin's trade.

L'immortel (22 Bullets) - [French & English sub's] A retired mobster goes on a revenge spree after being left for dead with 22 bullets in his body by his former childhood friend.

For me these are Jean Reno best movies. I enjoyed him Ronin, The Da Vinci Code. Though I am waiting to have a look at; Les rivières pourpres (The Crimson Rivers) and Wasabi

iMac 27" [14.2] (late 2013), Airport Time Capsule 5th gen, iPhone13 x 2, iPad6, iPad Mini5, Spark Smart Modem 1st Gen

Panasonic TV Viera TH-L50E6Z (1080p), Panasonic Blu-ray PVR DMR-BWT835, Yamaha AVR RX-V1085 [6.1 Surround Speaker System], Apple TV 4k 64Gb (2nd gen), Apple HomePod mini

Kia Sportage Urban EX (2019), Suzuki Swift SR7 (2011)

The difficult we can do immediately. The impossible takes a bit longer. But Miracles you will have to wait for.

Most dangerous Game. 6.7 IMBD. My rating 8.0

On Prime video it’s a 131 minute movie, but shows as TV series on IMBD, only 8 minute episodes or so.

As watched as movie put here. First 15 minutes build up found a bit boring but then enjoyed it for mindless entertainment after that. About a guy that accepts to be hunted for 24 hours, and each hour that goes by that he stays alive $50,000 gets deposited into his account, the amount deposited also increases each hour.

I was expecting it to be a jungle one, but found it more interesting that took place in a city. There are rules like no guns etc.

Good if want to watch mindless story of unknown people trying to hunt to kill someone and him having to escape situations.

Dumb answer.  There's masses of good content on Netflix.  Unless you're just answering that you have no recommendation, in which case, why bother?

A very subjective question.  There is a lot of good, and some great content.  If you liked the Adam Project maybe 6 Underground?

The Greatest Showman - 6.5/10 (Disney+)

Watched this on the recommendation of a friend.  It was okay, which probably doesn't sound like a very strong recommendation.  Part of me was comparing Hugh Jackman in this with his performance in Les Miserables, and it might not be a fair comparison.  Les Mis is a really powerful story, and Jackman did a really good job (though he's no Alfie Boe), so The Greatest Showman feels a bit smaller as a result.

The singing is good, but nothing really stands out for me in terms of the soundtrack.  The choreography was good, but overall I think the story is what lets it down from being a classic.  PT Barnum's rise from being the son of a tailor to an entertainer who embraces a range of unique performers to create PT Barnum's Circus sounds good, but none of the story arcs feel very immersive or seem to go far enough to be gripping.  You've got Zac Efron as Philip and Zendaya as Anne who have a love story arc, but it only adds up to a couple of scenes and one song, and it's resolved with a simple "sacrifice" scene near the end of the film.  PT Barnum is shown as a man of dreams, and there are undertones in the story that suggest his non-judgemental approach to those society often discards is a facade, but it gets sidetracked by a half-hearted love triangle arc mid-film that again just fizzles out.  The whole film gets wrapped up in a neat little bow with a happy ending that kind of smothers any of the deeper messages that the film hinted at.

As I wrote at the start, it's okay, and it's not a bad film, but it doesn't really elevate to being a classic of the genre.

Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness at the cinema on Saturday night

I really enjoyed it.

Could've easily been pumped up to an R rated version with a bit of DC-style Murderverse blood and gore applied - Kudos to Marvel for sill being able to deliver without having to go there.

It was well done, well paced and leaves you knowing there's more to come.

Many, many cameos. Much confusion for my poor wife who does not invest herself particularly heavily in the MCU.

Winter's Bone 7.5/10 DVD

Early Jennifer Lawrence set in the back blocks of Missouri and showing the real American Dream. Lawrence has to find her drug dealing father who has absconded after putting up their house as a bond or she and her siblings will be homeless.

Gritty performance from JL and pretty atmospheric.

I really enjoyed it and rated it higher, probably the best musical I'd seen since Annie, however, I really enjoyed the soundtrack and that made it for me.

I don't enjoy musicals in general esp if the music doesn't appeal. I know I should watch Les Miserables and Hamilton, but they both look totally uninteresting to me.
