i had a martial art movie fest over the weekend, ip man, ong bak 1 and 2 and the protector

i love them ,i love them all

but on a more critical note, ong bak tends to have terrible TERRIBLE story lines(not that you care while watching it) the protector isnt much better(although running into a crowded restaraunt and yelling"wheres my elephant " does have a certain charm)

ip man had a far more involving story line and the fight scenes were jsut as involving

an older movie, from 1979. called "Satlker": subconsciousness and a "study" on happiness :)
...I really strongly recommend it even if you're not very into artsy-fartsy films...

there's no official trailer, but this is my favorite part :)

Stalker 1979.

Well had a movie fest over the weekend the cold wet weather and all kids being away made a perfect opportunity for this. I watched the following

Robin Hood 7.5 outta 10 Not too bad but if looking for a more traditional storyline based version this is not is.

Youth In Revolt (comedy) 8.5 outta 10. Thought this was really good not many known actors in this although bit parts for some biggish names.

The 41 yr old virgin who knocked up Sarah Marshall and felt superbad about it. 6.5 outta 10 and yes that is the actual name of the movie if you haven't guessed it's a comedy spoof was not too bad as far as spoof movies go they had characters who looked like each films originaly characters and did a pretty good job of spoofing a lot of movies.

Also went to a friends and watched Shrek Forever After. 7.5 outta 10 If you like the Shrek series then this is as good as any of the others and had it's normal amount of comedic parts for both young and old.

I P Man 2    8.5 outta 10 If you like martial arts movies at all then this is a must even though it is a subtitled movie it is still great and with it being based around true events (or at least a true character) it just made it more watchable.

Saw Iron Man 2 at the theatres last week and thought it was pretty good if you liked the first then the second is good. Mickey Rourke played his villian role very well and I also like the tie in for The Avengers at the end too.

Lastly saw The Book of Eli recently as well thought it was pretty good I thought the twist with the Book at the end was really well done I would never have guessed hehe.

Well that's my list of movies from the last week and a half not including half of one called Shrink starring Kevin Spacey as only got half way through before falling asleep hehe (tired not the movie) so far movie has been ok although labelled as a comedy it doesn't have a lot of laughs. Spacey plays a depressed Psychiatrist / Shrink.

avatar BD non 3d - fell asleep. so boring! (yes the graphics was awesome but 50" from 5m is not enough to show full potential - i need a 100" plasma! actually i started off at 2m away still found it very dry)

up in the air - a bit slow going, and i can usually concentrate quite well. secondly i wasnt up to getting hit by hard core reality that night - felt quite stink afterwards for some reason.

hurt locker - got me attention! re:XPD: [SPOILER ALERT] and yeah we had a debate about the final scene - thought it wasnt a flashback in the end, it was meant to be a juxtaposition of the lavishness of life in the states, because and only because of the hard reality crap the soldiers had to endure on the other side of the planet. wham. bang. the oscar. just for that one scene - i didnt think it overall was that outstanding.

Last night I watched "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1132620

Sub-titled, but it doesn't take long to get so involved that you almost forget that you are reading.
Quite raw and I must admit that I was quite surprised that it was only rated at R16 due to the
nature of some of the scenes.

the break up. looks about right what they depict. now the funny part: after the show vince and jen broke up for real for good!

taking of pelham 123 - not bad for a thriller: plenty of action, no boring scenes!
