I have got some aerial photography which is relatively clear but not as clear as I would like of my property from the GIS portal provided by Auckland City Council for the year 2001.

I am looking on LINZ to see if they have anything else in addition to the council photography, but am struggling to work out how to use it.  If anyone can share any info on whether LINZ can offer anything additional from their portals and how to use, that would be helpful.  I am going to send LINZ a general contact query but just seeing if I can do something else in the meantime during the Xmas break.

Am looking for anything dated 1995 onwards in the Mount Eden area.

Auckland Council (not Auckland City anymore) will have the latest any one has. As they pay for it themselves they will most likley not supply to LINZ. LINZ usually have older less detailed imagery that is publically available.

You can hit the Auckland Council web service directly here;

http://maps.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/ArcGIS/rest/services/Aerials/MapServer?f=jsapi

Eagle Technology also have a web service of all of the LINZ and freely available imagery here;

https://services.arcgisonline.co.nz/arcgis/rest/services/Imagery/newzealand/MapServer?f=jsapi

So depending on what you want to use it for a no cost method is to use one of the links above, full screen your browser and do a screen capture.

Alternatively, you are allowed to ask the council (assuming you are a rate payer) for a copy of the imagery. There may be a cost associated in aquiring this (cost of desemination).

Good luck!

the most recent ones Linz have  are

Auckland 0.075m Urban Aerial Photos (2015-16)

they also have

Auckland 0.125m Urban Aerial Photos (2010-2011)

Both are available on the linz data server,

https://data.linz.govt.nz/

to select the aerials go

Browse Data >Category>aerial photos, then sort by Alphabetical (using the gear icon) the newest Auckland ones are the 4th set down,

click on it then push the big "+" and it will populate the map with the data

As someone said ACC will have the latest. It may not be available on their map portal but will be available from their public counter. LINZ are too tight to pay for imagery these days so usually enter into agreements with each TLA to use theirs for map updates.

Thanks to everyone who replied.

I was referred to http://retrolens.nz as well.

The council photos using their aerial timeslider could not be beaten however.

GOogle earth, and using the historical aerial photos it has by using the slider, can provide older aerial photos.
