http://www.nationalreview.com/article/455235/raw-water-movement-mocks-human-suffering

"Every few months, there’s a new trend that promises life-changing health benefits...

'Raw water' is the newest such trend.

Customers are paying for the privilege of drinking water that is unfiltered, untreated, and unsterilized -- and apparently they want it so badly that it is often out of stock. Numerous brands have emerged to cater to this fast-growing niche. A fool and his money are soon parted, and in free countries we should accept that. But this particular fad makes me recoil with disgust.

...

To put this absurdity in perspective, consider that in the world’s 'Middle Income Countries,' per capita income ranges from just under $3 to $34 a day, and that 'raw water' bottles in the US cost $36.99 each. [NZD $52]

Or, put another way, in order to ingest 'raw water,' the cause of 20 percent of child deaths worldwide, rich Americans have taken to spending more than most people in the world earn in a week.

In doing so, not only are they rejecting millennia of widely understood science, but they are putting their lives and the lives of those around them at risk, in order to indulge in a patronizing play-act of poverty that puts even so-called slum tourism to shame."

Come try it.... actually for you I will let you drink a glass for $1...if you like it.... you can take a 5lt bucket home for $5

It is for now, wait another 10-15 years for the dairy farming to have ruined it all.

When people get sick from drinking this water, will they try and sue for not ensuring that the water they are selling is safe to drink.

But on a more serious note, there is a group of people who don't understand even basic science. The ones who think that vaccines are a cause of autism and a scam, who think that homeopathy actually works, and who believe claims that modern water treatment processes alter the molecular structure of water.

The worst part though is these people will be giving this water to their kids. The kids can't make their own safety judgments.

Wait for 5 years before the city folk ruin it with their effluent...

Stop the dairy farmer bashing already.

I've got a couple of tanks full of 'Raw' Water at home. I'd happily offer these fools a discount on their $40 bottles. 50% off for bulk purchases, can be paid via Western Union, buyer must arrange freight.

We've been drinking "raw" water out of our water tanks for 35 years with no problems.

Herd Immunity protects the anti-vaccer's. Raw water drinkers - not so much.

Hmmm, not sure that herd immunity was that great in the days that polio and smallpox existed (in the wild).

If you've had Giardia, you'd be worried about it.

I had it once and I lost 3 kilos in 2 days and it took me a week to recover.

Should market it as a miracle weight loss product.
