The problem for Mark is, hes generally right, but its the way he says things. He doesnt have a PC firewall rofl.

I know what hes trying to say here and I personally dont think what he said was cruel, mean. And technically its not employment is it? Its darn hard and he stressed that, but how does this get news worthy?

Your complaining that this isn't news, yet proceed to share the story to perpetuate the interest. Hmmm

There is rarely proper “news” these days, and balanced investigative journalism is extinct. It all just click bait for ratings. Say something that offends some people ( easily done in this sensitive world) and sit back and wait for the outrage to grow ratings and with it advertising income.

BTW of course parenting is not a “job”.

The bizarre thing is that "offending" someone has gained the same status as some sort of actual crime.

yeah, picking up a loaf of bread is a job too at a very smaller scale. but i think they all knew what he was saying, he made it quite clear.

it just strikes me as they run out of news so they make news about new presentator/commentators commentary, which to be fair was pretty fair and accurate. in other words they are making something out of nothing, but its M Richardson.

i think the reporter needs a NEW JOB lol.

i just wonder if reporters have a list of people they track, because there is no way that should have made an article, really.....

M Richardson on the other hand i think will be lapping it up, he loves have a laugh at people who cant handle the truth and get upset by it, plus all publicity is good publicity.

I'm a parent.  It's not a job.  It's responsibility you accept when you become a parent or caregiver.

I've been stay at home dad with young kids.  It's not that hard and there isn't that much to do.

In my individual experience, the biggest challenge was boredom.  There wasn't enough to do.  I could find about 4 hours of actual work per day and that had the house very clean, the laundry done and the garden immaculate.  The rest of the day was outings, games, play dates etc.

Yep. Keeps his name alive. Its called advertising, he is the product.

However I like him. He can be funny, a bit out there, and he is a bit of light entertainment.

That's how I see it. A job is something you do for compensation. Bringing up kids is not a job, you don't do it for compensation; you do it for love. Love is not compensation and it is unconditional. You're bring those kids up even if they are undeserving, unappreciated, entitled little sh*ts.

MR may be a bit of a twat but he's correct in this case.

I have a "job" but when I am at home in the morning I help out with the family and when I get home in the evening I help out and on the weekends I help out a lot. I even make the supreme personal sacrifice of turning down golf if there is kid stuff to do. But I don't claim to have 2 jobs.

A lot of people these days have a strong need to express outrage about stuff.

I believe the context in which MR made the comment in was where job == employment rather than task.

I just laugh at such things. Who cares?

Bob Jones says lots of things in his satirical column too, and it is hugely amusing and wondrous to watch people take offense.

Eddie Jones insulted wales, called it a s**t place .   He was tongue in cheek, I was more offended that he actually apologised.

The s***t towns of NZ campaign was another, people took it personally.... again, it is quite funny that people take it seriously. An outsiders commentary on your city.

The problem is with these people who take offense, they have the defects!!

Exactly. Very obvious, but no news/hype/outrage if he explained himself with clarity!  And thus no "cool, got myself out there this week, sorted"

yeah, we talk about the nanny state, wrapped in cotton wool, but that's spread to many people's minds now. Chill out them.
