DPD are awesome now!! My last 3 orders with them have taken a week or a bit less. eg, here is my order from last week..

Wednesday, July 31 11:58 AM Delivered NZ
Wednesday, July 31 6:57 AM Out for delivery NZ
Friday, July 26 8:05 PM Package has left the carrier facility US
Friday, July 26 4:08 PM Package arrived at a carrier facility US
Friday, July 26 3:21 AM Package departed an Amazon facility San Bernardino, CALIFORNIA US
Thursday, July 25 11:19 PM Package arrived at an Amazon facility San Bernardino, CALIFORNIA US
Thursday, July 25 6:39 PM Package departed an Amazon facility Ontario, CA US
Thursday, July 25 1:13 PM Package departed an Amazon facility Portland, OR US
Package has shipped

They changed something, this is DHL-esque service. I wonder if it is too fast though, as this level of awesomeness cuts the reason for using more expensive shipping methods.

This has been my experience for the last dozen or so orders placed in the last 3 months.

I haven't had the need to pay for faster shipping.

The issues that I have faced with them is not so much about the speed of their shipping, sending and delivery per-se, but more so in that their shipment tracking is literally non-existent.  Whilst I do not purchase that much items from Amazon, the few I have done have gone something like you'll get notification about items being shipped, then item departing their local processing facility/warehouse, and then nothing, until about a week or so later I suddenly received something about "Delivery attempt failed", and the next day or two the item would turn up.  In my case I actually received the item within about 7-10 days from shipping, which is pretty fast, but I just wish that DPD have better tracking details.  Hopefully this would change with the reports and experiences from the likes on @dm2000 and @surfisup1000 above...

Which tracking website do you use? I use this...

https://wndirect.com/tracking-dpd.php

They include a link to the local courier from an early stage , eg...

Parcel: 1 of 1
Tracking Code: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Visit tracking site: Fastway New Zealand

So, I just use the DPD page once, to retrieve the fastway link. I check fastway each night a few days after ordering, because it moves quickly when it enters the fastway system. But, you do get full local tracking just like with a domestic delivery.

Here is my fastway tracking for the above DPD delivery..

Result for label number:
xxxxxxxxxxxx
StatusDate/TimeFranchise location

International inbound accepted

Your parcel is currently in transit between our 'Auckland' and 'Tauranga' depots.

On Board - The parcel is on board the courier vehicle
31/07/2019 06:57:58 Tauranga

We have delivered your item and left at your front door, please contact your local Regional Franchisee for any enquiries

Thanks for the tip - I'll keep that in mind when I next order something from Amazon and have it shipped via DPD...

sbiddle:I don't recall ever having had an Amazon package in NZ delivered by Courier Post for many years.

I placed an order recently which came in two packages. One arrived via Fastway (two days ago) and the other via CourierPost (today).

My experience is not a good one

Two parcels from Amazon, both "lost" the day after they were shipped... almost as if someone was stealing them

I eventually got replacement parcels from Amazon but only after they shipped them DHL, which arrived in NZ two days after shipping, then stuck in customs for a couple of days

Normally don't have an issue.

Received 2 items on Wednesday, stuffed in my letterbox, they normal bring them to the door.

Another item got "delivered" yesterday, "left in letter box" but the item is nowhere to be seen.

I thought you had to sign a Authority to leave or something for them to leave without signature?

Not stolen but your address fails validation on the WinDirect database so DPD refuse to pick them up.

Not with fastway. (They are the last mile for DPD.)

Out of the last 4 packages that should have been delivered to my house via DPD, only 1 was delivered. Rest 3 were lost. Amazon refunded or replaced the items. Seems like too many packages are going missing via DPD/fast way in this thread.

Do whatever you want to do man.

It's been a valid address in the past, for about 12 years now, as I have used amazon for over a decade without too much trouble at all.  No other courier on the planet seems to struggle, its only DPD, and they only get things two days into a trip and then "lose" it.  Amazon have chased, no luck, I have chased, no luck, its as if DPD drop them into a black hole, which is more likely to be some employees ebay account

And for what it's worth, I just took delivery of another Amazon package, via CourierPost.

Well Fastway is the problem of it being slow. I have an Amazon package set to arrive Yesturday, ordered 2 weeks ago, then when it got to Fastway it is so slow and crap.
