PS3 question.... not sure if there are many owners in here but.

I would like to attach my USB (fat32) hard drive to my PS3 and be able to drop n drag files to and from the device on my PC with the
wireless network(like a mapped network drive I guess). Have been looking around and not really sure if this is possible without have to use the PS3 to actually copy the files.

Would  be very handy. Love the ps3 goes really well and cant beat the blu-ray!

Toys:  iphone 4s; PS3 good times.  13inch macbook pro.   ipad 3. ï£¿ 27inch imac.   airport express & time machine. raspberry-pi running xbmc and a gopro try hard.

Hmmn, not sure about that one. I use WMP11 as a media server to mine (great with remote play for my PSP too!), will have a muck around later and see if I can do what you're asking about.

You can attach a external HDD to the PS3 but you cannot remotley drop data onto it from another PC. You have to stick another usb thumb drive or another external drive attached with the PS3 and then you can transfer data between those 2 external drives connected to the PS3. May be in future an update from SONY might allow this.

Do whatever you want to do man.
