Could the topic of this thread be a prequel?

 

 

The first book will address that question, but not in a derivative Hollywood way.

 

Don't hold your breath through ... I'm still working on the premise/context.  I'm trying to keep it as 'hard' science fiction, without that being too limiting.  A lot of research to be done ...
