I know how much Geekzone Members love to complain about courier drivers.

Nightmare job - I agree, but that doesn't excuse ...

 

- Habitual illegal driving and parking or;
- Fraudulent behaviour like leaving a card to call without even knocking on the door; 
- Or unreasonable behaviour like getting grumpy because I wanted to check a >$1,000 fishfinder was in one piece before signing for it.

 

It sounds like the job to have is to be the contractor who gets paid $800 to deliver three parcels.

My current rant is with Courier Post. They have an authority to leave things at the back door step. It's relatively safe (cannot be seen), where as my front door has views from the street and shops across the road. Twice in the last fortnight they have left items on the front door. One package (arrived this morning) even had "Leave the item on the back door step, not the front". But they still deliver to the front door.  I'm going to make a complaint about that to them tonight. I'm also going to put a sign up, but honestly don't think it'll make a difference.

I just have all of my courier post deliveries redirected to the post office and pick it up there. It's the only way I've found to get consistent deliveries. It's a bit of a pain, but I at least get my packages.

Heh, I can personally testify to that to some degree. I buy quite a lot of clothes from Barkers but the absolute dirtbag of a courier driver for my area that their courier company (NZ Couriers) uses end up forcing me to collect from the local store.

"Yeah, nah. Sorry about that."

I've had this regularly too. The [Courier Post] driver simply can't be bothered coming down our shared driveway and across the bridge. She tends to write "no access" on the card. I saw her arrive one day so went out and extracted the card from the letter box and said I'd take the parcel now. Turns out she hadn't even bothered loading it into her van.

I think a large part of it comes down to laziness, really. How hard is it to get out of the van and at least try and knock on the door?
BTW, the only courier company (as far as I know) that delivers to the Post Office is Courier Post. They also allow deliveries to PO Boxes.

Courierpost now do it by default - I got a card a fortnight ago expecting to be about to choose online to redeliver or pick up from depot etc and discovered they drop it off at local post office by default unless you specify ahead of delivery.
Nevermind it was a $5 item, and stated as such on the packaging...

Agreed. Compaint's for the courier drivers is just like water off a ducks back.

Last time this happened to me, went to website there is no option to redeliver today, had to be next day

 

Another issue I hate, they ring the doorbell, then 4 nanoseconds later start banging on the door as if its an evacuation

 

Lately though, we've had no signature parcels, the lady left them by front door but out of site behind a pillar, small knock on the door and she left. Thats good. 10/10 for her, she seems to be regular
