Jon Pertwee, yes, I agree he was good too.

Baker as in Colin or Tom?

Probably Tom. The long scarf and jelly beans. So 70's and 80's. Amazing that he is now 84, looks totally different.

From Stuff:

TVNZ will Play new Doctor Who

TVNZ will stream episodes on TVNZ OnDemand immediately following the UK broadcast (at the same time episodes appear on BBC iPlayer), allowing New Zealand fans to engage in worldwide discussions on the show without the fear of spoilers.

Episodes will also play on broadcast TV the same week as the UK.

Tom.

It's all about childhood memories hiding behind the sofa and watching it with my father.

I preferred the old format of 30 minute episodes telling one story over the season. As with so many things, the modern way is not an improvement!

I noticed a Facebook Post from TVNZ saying "coming soon" so to me that is a big rights loss to Prime TV/Sky

Win for viewers though. TVNZ are going to drop the episode on demand immediately after the UK broadcast. No plans announced for when they will broadcast it on TV, but given that TVNZ1 are current affairs focused on Sunday evening, I would be surprised if it was a same day replay Although they could show it on Duke on Sundays. https://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/tv-radio/105511154/first-trailer-for-jodie-whittakers-doctor-who-series-is-released

I just hope TVNZ doesn't cut it down to fit in the commercial hour concept.

David Tenant followed by Tom Baker.

Show went downhill after Tenant, although that could be more to do with the atrocious job Stephen Moffat did as show runner and head writer (especially during Capaldi's run).

Show runner is such an odd expression. I imagine a guy running around on a stage whenever I see it. I don't think I even saw that expression at all until 10 or 15 years ago. Where did it come from?

Don't know when it started being used, but makes perfect sense. Literally the person who runs the show.

Unrelated, but another odd (and incredibly lazy) word is fireplace. Think about it.

stocksp: As to the actor playing the doctor, my view is that every change is a hard start, and it takes a while to get used to new doctors. David Tennent is my favourite of the new bunch, and I could never really get a hold of Capaldi, even though I’ve loved him in other shows such as ‘the thick of it’. I’ll reserve my personal view on the new doctor until the end of season 1

Absolutely agree with that whole paragraph!

Anyone ever seen The Airzone Solution? It's like an episode of Dr Who (made after Sylvester McCoy finished his run)...but kind of not?

I see Bradley Walsh of "The Chase" and "Law & Order: UK" is in it.
