And he's coming to TV 1 where he will be more in our face than ever! Yay!

networkn: He is the opposite of both of those things.

The Herald squandered a great opportunity with the website revamp. They made a mess of it. A great example of one of the fails with the new website is the way they offer the option to opt in for notifications. I dont want notifications from the Herald. I've lost count of the number of times I've clicked No, but they still keep offering them. You'd think the site would remember your choice or at least offer the option to permanently opt out.

He was for years the champion of ignored victims of the EQC. A lot of people in Christchurch think he walks on water.

If that is too radical for some here, he also shamed the All Blacks into finally visiting Samoa. Surely our right wing sees some value in that?

That will be interesting. TVNZ has tended to put a lot more into current affairs shows compared to TV3. Is it a Campbell Live format or something different?

The fish aren't biting today.

I can't wait for what tiny event like an ant crawling across the studio floor gets JC breathlessly ethused about as "extraordinary", or "amazing", or what poor sap who answers his "questions" in a perfectly reasonable manner, but still gets hounded/berated or disrespected for a few ratings.

I think it's high time for a Mike Hosking channel. Nothing except Mike Hosking in a 24/7 live-streamed monologue of all Mike Hosking's opinions on all the things Mike Hosking has an opinion on, which is of course everything.

I have a distinct impression that a few people on this forum would lap that up! No words for how sad that makes me.

If all the rednecks were busy watching Hoskings instead of yapping at the government something might actually get done.

The govt doesn't  do anything, just talks about stuff, or pays other people to talk about things.

Well, they're supposed to be able to get stuff done regardless of who's yapping. In fact we pay good money to an opposition so they can yap at them and they still should be able to get stuff done.

But they can't. Because when it comes to the boring stuff - the day to day backroom work required to get stuff done, they really don't know what they're doing. They spent 9 long years in opposition failing to prepare themselves for the day they got into government. You can see this in the knee-jerk, unplanned, unprepared way they are going about things with stuff like the gas exploration ban and other significant announcements that we never heard from them in that 9 years.  The problem is that they could never have a plan because they never could know in advance Winston is going to allow them to do.
