I'd suggest if you dont care if half the US or SEA dies, there is no real need to post.

That is not the intention of the thread, so if you don't care, don't post

The primary point of my post was to point out that the media are merely catering to their audiences desires, and those audiences by and large simply do not care about what happens to people in the third world versus what happens to those in the west. As an addendum to that I was pointing out that I personally don't care about either group.

As for not posting just because I don't care about something or because it's not what you perceive as the intention of something.. Hello this is the internet :-P

Too late

Me I don't really care if half of the US or South East Asia dies in a damned storm.

That is the primary point.  Philippines is not a third world country. Off course any media caters for the main audience, my thread was to highlight the extreme bias here. Given that one event is comparitively minor, the other is huge. Itslike AUS news providing 24/7 coverage of a QLD cyclone, of which I have been in, and ignoring Katrina

I dont oercieve anything, I can read

http://earth.nullschool.net is pretty interesting when you compare the two hurricanes in size and intensity.

Thanks for that site. Never knew about about that site.

Yep Philippines is still all reds and oranges whilst Carolina is just greens now at 1610

It's a good site, you can also see things like air pollution and stuff as well, depending on the layer you select.
