Nzpost wants to verify my address. They asked for my dob to verify my address. They then failed the verification. On asking them why ,they said they couldn't verify my dob with realme.
This is of concern and breaks the privacy model and realme
agreement for two reasons.
1. I didn't log into nzpost using a realme account. I created a business email address based account. They imply that if they provide a dob and address to real me they will be able to verify a person with that dob lives at that address.
A. I didn't give them permission to do that nor gave realme permission to associate that information together.
B. That functionality can be used for profiling without my consent as i never logged into realme or gave permission.

2. Realmes site says
[Start quote]
The RealMe service doesn't store any of the identity information you provide about yourself – it just acts as a conduit. Your information is only shared with the organisations that you give consent to, so you always know exactly what you’re sharing with who.

RealMe stores only the information needed to manage your login, like your username and password.

[End quote]
If realme does not store information and only acts as a conduit then how is nzpost using realme to associate a dob with a physical address?

Either the realme site is incorrect or ... actually there is no or...What does realms actually do?

Shane

Renew your passport since its inception per chance?

I have a feeling if you do now, it automagically makes you a verified user. Which then has further steps to carry out in which to share details to agents. (https://www.realme.govt.nz/what-it-is/verify-your-address/ ) So that would imply it does store data bout you securely despite that claim. Unless its the DIA that hold it and the others ask for it.

I'm verified user (twice over) plus had photo verification two years ago but no passport for 12 years or longer.

Post office seems to think they can check if person with dob lives at an address with out a log on by that Pierson. A double breach of the sites claims.
