For a research project, I need to attach tempered glass screen protectors to touchscreens (e.g., Jaycar 7") -- question is, I probably can't get such screen protectors without cutouts, so can I cut larger ones to size?  I'm vaguely aware of limitations on cutting tempered glass (e.g., on showers), but can I simply use scissors on thin sheets without causing problems?  Thanks

Not at all - it'll shatter. The problem is there is quite a few layers.

Could try scoring with a glass cutter and snapping, but still probability of breaking due to the internal tension from the tempering process. That said, you might be able to keep gently scoring all the way through?

Do you have to use glass screen protectors?
