I believe he means that it's the individuals who ARE breaking the law are the ones disliking the cops. 

Personally there are far more important things Police should be spending time on IMO...burglaries for instance are not even being investigated

Aaaah - you're quite correct!  Funny how there's often a couple of different ways things can be read...

Off topic - burglaries in Wellington have a dedicated burglary squad attending and investigating them.  There's been a few stories in the DomPost featuring them over the last few years.

Sorry for not clarifying, I didn't mean the cops were breaking the law!

I meant the tokers ;) I think the cops are there more for weed being dealt than the odd glazy-eyed student having a joint in the park though

I had a friend a few years ago who was hassled by some students about being an undercover policeman at Vic Uni.

No matter how many times he said he was actually both an adult student trying to finish his degree, as well as being a cop, they wouldn't believe him hahaha
