It seems that we have a few people around our daily lives that have a few different ideas about things and us as Geeks who are mostly realists we find it pretty amusing.
They maybe crazy, they maybe right, they maybe wrong. We'll never know cause we can't trust what we know right? Suppose with that argument you can't trust what they are saying either. Seems to wind them up really good if you pull their own card on them.

If you have a story about an interaction with someone pushing one of these ideas on people then please share!

Please DO NOT include peoples personal information, remove any identifiable content from screen shots or quotes. While people have the right to believe in what they want and we have the right to share our opinion or amusement over their thoughts, we do not have the right to personally attack people for their beliefs.

This is more relating to a conspiracy movement, Like the Anti Vax, Big Pharma, Chemtrails, NWO, 911, Illuminiti, Fluoridation, 5G or Radio stuff, Flat earth you name it...

I am an avid Redditor and I have to say, there are some absolute gems that just explode out of the woodwork at the most insane times...

Often it'll be a quite civilized discussion (as civilized as it gets on Reddit), then suddenly, *BOOM* in comes the anti-vaxxer or Flat-Earther with a bombshell...although the Chemtrail kids are also always lurking.

And then there's r/insanepeoplefacebook

I use the ol reddit a bit, mainly to mess with leftists on the NZ Subreddit. Just sit there triggering them on purpose and it is pretty funny. All of the John Key conspiracies and National did this and that can get pretty funny. They seem to have adopted and use frequently the term "Fiscal", I can guarantee that not a single one of them new about that term until the news article was published about the "Fiscal hole"

Is this to include the ban-1080 crowd as well, or does that have enough followers to make it not as "out there"?

Personally, I reckon that any group that uses the phrase "educate yourselves" or "sheeple" is fair game.

The Ban 1080 is another one of those groups/movements. Personally I have seen things first hand that make me suggest it is not good, then I have seen things first hand that suggest it is better than nothing.

I Honestly didn't care to join the debate but if people have stories more re the people around it rather than the argument then that would probably be most applicable. Just remember around this there have been DOC staff assaulted, threatened and lots more.

I wont be responding to this thread because the Illuminati, The Authority, The Lizard people and the Free Masons will all be watching and reading and they cannot find me.

Now that you've joined the discussion, by stating you won't join the discussion, they'll find you.

B4 is a very uncommon surname.

Living with my aged mum now I get this every day.

They are JW religious....

Still amazes me sometimes the things that come out of her mouth.

Evolution is nonsense of course, and Mr attenborough was on TV, so she was laughing at some of his comments and then told me how ridiculous these giant birds were that he imagined....moas.

Um. Best to keep my mouth shut though.

This guy:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_Cathie wrote books which had photos of ham radio "cubical quad" antennas, which he claimed were arranged all over NZ in some grid pattern and used to communicate with aliens.

My father was a ham radio nut, and we had a cubical quad antenna on the garage roof ( a bit like the one below).

Someone in the neighbourhood - a "concerned citizen" contacted the police, and a local constable felt obliged to knock on the door to check it out.
