It seems many Anzac Day parades and services, in Auckland at least, are to be cancelled. The RSA say they've been advised to cancel because of the "current terror threat level". On the other hand the Police are saying there's "no specific risk to public safety at this time".
These services are a long-standing tradition and of real significance to many NZ'ers. This is not some triviality like changing the name of a rugby team. If there's a reason for cancelling then fair enough, but surely we're grown up enough to be told what the nature of threat is, perceived or otherwise.
