Possible option but since it will be used in the Philippines, I dont think the Freeview button would be used.

Philippines?!?!

And there was us, assuming it was going to be used in New Zealand! 😀

I did mention in on my initial post :)

Yep, he did... 😄

Have you considered getting an amazon fire TV stick and loading kodi on for them before posting it.

Can recommend the new 4K one (has plenty of processor so snappy).

Easier if they have a WiFi connection with range to the TV as doesn't have wired without an accessory.

Ive got 4 ATV's in the house - 2 x ATV and 2 x 4k's - I have no idea where any of the remotes are and Im not a fan of the 4k remotes either.

The family and I use our ipads or iphones or TV remote (on 4k only) as the remotes and IMO are a lot easier to use especially with the recent update to put it on the control panel.

If they can use an ipad, then i would favour the the ATV - If you get a 4k, Im pretty sure the TV remote will operate the ATV via HDMI.

UPDATE: Found a couple of cheap ATV's in TM. Went for the 3rd gen as I will hook it up via Ethernet cable given the speed of DSL at home.
