Hi Guys

I bought a chair last wednesday from Albany. I live in Mt Roskill

I've waited for about a week for a chair to arrive

https://www.nzpost.co.nz/tools/tracking/item/4527340002297801AKL045AS

It keeps saying waiting for courier driver and I've opened a courier post investigation since last thursday.

However they keep saying they've updated the ticket to see when the delivery and will call me once they've confirmed a delivery time from the morningside depo.

Does anyone know who to talk to to escalate the case further?

I have a sore back and have a medical condition this is why I couldn't pickup the chair from albany and paid for delivery but it seems courier post isn't interested in knowing..

I would get the retailer/seller to contact NZ Post and chase them up, they probably have experience with this kind of thing and would have more of a pull/say if the courier has dropped the ball.

Sadly I don't think there is much you can do over and above what you've already done.   Other than pestering them with more calls, maybe someone will speed things up. Be the squeaky wheel :)

It could take a little time to investigate.  One thing they might check is the address validity.

So long as they are complying with the carriage of goods act, things will move along at their pace.

You should have automatic insurance up to a certain amount (I think at least $250,  but check the T&C's of your delivery method for the exact amount).

With CourierPost, only thing that seems to work is to go off at them. Eventually you'll end up with someone who will actually pick up the ball and get things sorted for you.

Other option is to go back to the supplier, and say the item has not arrived and you'd like another delivered via a different company and let the supplier fight it out with CP.

Just put it back on the supplier. The couriers dont give a crap about complaints from end users as they are not spending the money.

If Courier Post's call centre is anything as incompetent, or their ability to sort issues out is as poor as their parent company's then I wish you luck!

I had huge problems trying to get an NZ Post parcel non-delivery sorted out earlier this year, and it was probably the most frustrating experience I've had with an NZ-based call centre. They also showed a clear unwillingness to put things right, despite the numerous documented errors made by their staff.

If you're a social media user perhaps taking to their FB page or similar to raise the problem there may pay dividends, as I wouldn't hold your breath expecting 'normal' methods of trying to sort out a problem (phone calls, emails) to succeed, or certainly not promptly and without a high degree of frustration.

I've emailed playtech to see if they can help.

It was an akracing octane gaming chair.

I think the chair might be heavy and that the courier driver are too lazy to carry it possibly.

Years of sitting in the dining chair to play games was a bad idea

The sender is responsible for chasing this up not you the receiver. Put the ball back in Playtechs court and if you paid for the service I’d ask for a refund too

IANAL. But when I have had issues before, I found out it was the sender who normally has a the contract of carriage, unless you commissioned and contracted the freight directly with the courier. So it is the sender who has to sort it out for you.

Unless you enjoy hearing "Yeah,nah...sorry about that" as the sole remedy offered, I would do what others have said and make the seller send it again and sort out the missing delivery without your involvement.

A lady called me yesterday at 2pm and said she'll put an urgent delivery for yesterday but still nothing.

I've called playtech but no answer so will try again later.

Thanks for the assistance guys

Playtech says it depends on the area and the people there that can help in moving the chair as its a heavy item.

He can lodge a company request to courier post but I'll have to wait for courier post to get back to them just like how they have to get back to me.

I never knew sending a chair is this this difficult?

I had a gaming chair sent to me via courier, was "flat packed" and no issues at all.

Is this one pre-assembled ?

They lost it.

That happened to me and I had the same stuff noted.

Rang and finally after fluffing around they admitted it was lost.

Yeah sounds like someones telling porkies or not being told the truth themselves.

Go back to Playtech again, and ask them to get it sorted in next 24hrs or you want a full refund.
