Parrotdog in Lyall Bay has a fillery and pub (good food)m- I recommend Falcon

Double Vision Brewery has a fillery and bar in North Miramar - has a food truck Friday and Saturday night - I recommend the Expatriate

Haven't had the Expatriate, but have had the Naughty Hopper, and that is a nice drop

Yeah - not bad on the whole. DVB also did some collab’s with the guys in Aro which were nice. Best bit is that they are walking distance from my house...

Up the Kapiti Coast way, I know of Northend Brewery & Tuatara in Waikanae. Someone else mentioned Duncan's as well.

Duncan's is located about 20m away from Tuatara's Paraparaumu brewery, so you can get 2 for one if you are so inclined.

Duncan's Cellar Door is generally only open Friday/Saturdays from 3-6pm.

Tuatara's Tap Room is open Tues-Thursday 3-8pm and Friday-Sunday 11am-8pm, and offers on premises beer, food, and off license sales

Both are in Sheffield St, Paraparaumu, just a hop skip and a jump off the expressway.

Thanks for that. I think a trip up the coast might be on the cards. Cheers

If you like sours, Duncan's Raspberry Ripple Icecream Sour did very well at Beervana, and he's releasing some other limited edition ones over the next few months. I was told that the new Boysenberry Ripple Ice Cream Sour should be available this weekend but they expect it to sell out very quickly. Luckily it's payday this week so I'll be making a stop on the way home on Friday :-)

If you're in Napier (well, Hastings) be sure to check out Brave Brewery.  They started at the local farmers market and have quickly grown.  Their beer (especially the Tigermilk) is amazing - don't just take my word for it, look at all the awards they've won.

Anyway you can take your 1L/2L flagons to their brewery and they'll fill them.  I got out there a couple of times a month on a Saturday for a fillup and there's always other people out there filling their flagons, it's become a very popular way to consume craft beer.

To finish, here's a poem I once wrote very drunk when I was 18.

Beer, Beer, Beer.
Drink Some,
It's Tasty,
Beer.

El Muppo.

I found some of the raspberry at regional a couple of weeks ago, and it was delicious. The lactose gave a thicker mouth feel which worked really well with the sour.

This is not a complete lsit, but it's a start. Also if you can find it Abandoned Brewing are doing some good beers too, but only by the can i believe. Te Aro brewing also brew in Upper Hutt, but last time I was out that way, they don't have an off license or fillery/bar.

Te Aro / Brewtopia  had a fillery (4 taps), but are closed at the moment while they create their restaurant, which I believe is to be run by the folks from 'The Chippery'

I think it should be open soon. They said 6 weeks around mid August (it's my local home brew supplies store)

I should have looked at their FB page, they have posted job adverts today:

"We are on our way to opening mid-October and are on the hunt for Bar and Floor Staff. We are open Thursday til Sunday from 12pm till Late and as summer rolls in we hope to extend on these hours."

When I first read this I read it as building (ie, making) craft beer as opposed to team-building, which made me think this may be a perfect option -

Brewing Experience

We have professional brewing equipment, experienced staff and quality ingredients to help you craft your own beer from scratch. No prior experience required. There are 16 purpose built brew stations that each make 40 litres of beer.

Pricing starts at $159 per brew station, which can be done solo or by up to three people. The cost can be split between all participants - so you can brew with mates and share the 40 litres of quality craft beer you produce. That's equivalent to 10 dozen 330ml bottles!

https://theoccasionalbrewer.co.nz/

I've wanted to do this for a while - the opportunity to make your own craft beer using quality equipment, and ideally ending up with a decent product; you can even get your own labels designed and printed.

However, I assume it may be too time-consuming and costly for a team-building exercise?
