I used to have a greasemonkey script but lost it, which used to suppress websites that bring up alert boxes when you try and close the window or tab with a re-occuring OK/Cancel to try and get you to downlaod something (usually malware or similar).

Does anyone know of a script or perhaps firefox extension that would do similar?

The boxes you talk about are javascript and you can just disable javascript on the internet browser.  Some browsers have an option to disable it when the javascript (alert) jumps up..

Yep I was hoping to keep javascript enabled, I've disabled most javascript options such as raise/close windows and replace right-click context menu.  Too bad they didnt put this problem as an option to disable in FF3.
