My PB parcel arrived today that was sent 5/5. Last item in the Rural Post van (we are not rural but they deliver parcels to our area). Only one day past their estimated so I can't complain.

I am 8 km from PB Penrose collected on 4/5 and no ETA

It is frustrating but packages end up getting sorted at depots before going back out to customers (usually, unless it's a sub60 or some urgent courier)

NZP should just stop feeding people crap. Other couriers are also handling very high volumes but they aren't reporting delays of the ilk that even NZP themselves have admitted to. From personal/work experience, other courier companies are also slower than usual but typically everything gets to a same island destination in 2 to 3 working days. NZP is the one that is constantly failing in this respect.

It’s not crap, where do you get your information from? We use a few couriers and when the rest of the country came out of level 4 it all fell to bits, as an essential service we struggled to get anything anywhere with all our couriers.

The worst service was Toll - 5 days at best, 2 weeks for the worst, PBT wasn’t far behind, they basically were telling us anything after 3 days in transit ‘was lost’ and to ‘make a claim, it eventually all turned up 5 days later, Courier Post was 3-5 days Castle Parcels and Posthaste 2-3 days and New Zealand Couriers 1-2 days average.

As for your claim other couriers aren’t reporting delays, I beg to differ I have emails saying otherwise which were plastered over their websites too.

As for NZpost/Courier Post/DHL they are far bigger and move much more freight then any other courier, that’s a known fact.

Parcel from AliExpress just arrived, 2 days shy of a month since it was dispatched (15/4). The item was readdressed to UCL Co LTD as the sender. Still sitting at 'Accepted by Last Mile Carrier' on AliExpress tracking.

Overall, stoked. Hopefully the ol' wii wireless sensor bar arrives soon too 🤙

Thank God the shops open soon. Imagine if retailers had to keep relying on this. Pretty sure many will have just given up on online shopping for now.

Heh yeah, I'm looking forward to shops being open as well - I actually hate going to the shops, but if it means I'll have the item in my hand, then I'll survive ;)

But in the meantime...

A geek waits.

Looking forward to being able to go into bunnings to get things that they wouldnt let me click and collect, for some silly reason its tied into their delivery options so if they cant deliver it, they cant click and collect it. Called up but no help, I cant use the trade side because I don't have an account manager (a concept I find absurd in anycase) and they cant set that up because of lockdown.

Ive been getting a lot of UCL readdressed ones fine, its the ones that are just coming by post that are getting held up. I dont know how close the the destination that the consolodators that UCL are the return agent for dump it into the NZ post system, but it seems to be after the backlog because 2 things have been under 11 days delivery by them.

Remove a few posts. You folks need to behave or there will be some cooldown period for every side.

QuackPipe: As for NZpost/Courier Post/DHL they are far bigger and move much more freight then any other courier, that’s a known fact.

I did not say no one else is reporting delays.

If you look at the likes of PBT, Aramax (+4 - 5 days) and other competitors' websites, none of them are doing the lame pre-emptive "Hey don't call us unless we are at least 5 working days late" defence that NZP is doing. Much more importantly, what the heck is the relevance that NZP's the biggest?

If you are the biggest courier, as a matter of pure logic, you should have proportionate infrastructure to meet unexpected demand. Again, I am not expecting usual standards of service, just not extraordinarily crap service whilst charging the same price. If anything, large/well-capitalised enterprises at least arguably should have great room to increase resources in short order. You can debate whether the response of NZP has been reasonable (I don't think it has been) but just randomly cherry-picking things doesn't make for an informed, intelligent debate.

Edit: for pure fun I note that a set of packages that a team member of mine had to send out via courier has arrived via NZ Couriers and PBT respectively (not sure why two different couriers were used) inside three working days to Wellington from Auckland. I know numerous people at work are chasing up NZP packages that were picked up two weeks ago.

[Mod edit (MF): keep it civil]
