I've had 3 parcels ordered this week delivered this week.

It must be first in first out, and very slowly digging into the warehouse of stored parcels from the last 3 weeks.

My friend who own a small business said that level 4 backlog is insane, during first day of level 3, the courier van arrived to pick up his delivery, the courier guy can't even take much because his van already pretty much full of other business delivery as well.

PM also ask to support local business when coming into level 3. All sudden extra more orders in the first week of level 3 order he pretty much delay it till 2nd week for delivery so he can clear all those level 4 backlog.

Right now if there's order those are local and close to his home, he won't use courier at all, he personally deliver it after work hours, only using courier delivery for different cities now.

I ordered coke zero and red bull from mightyape today to go to work so I dont have to buy the overpriced 600ml coke and cans of redbull at the lunchbar.

I will update how things are going and when they arrive.

Edit:

Always reassuring when things are picked up before they were ordered...

My partner who works at one of the Briscoes Group Limited stores said that on a normal day, the courier driver would be fully loaded at 5pm after collecting parcels from a variety of downtown stores. As soon as level 3 hit, her store alone filled the van up x3 times in one day.

Hearing from CourierPost couriers that their depots are so full they "don't know where to start" - they must be grabbing the packages they can see and delivering them like that, probably why people are seeing things ordered recently delivered quicker

Thats what our courier said which is why he is confident I shouldnt be waiting too long on my mightyape stuff to get delivered to work.

There has to be a better way. Seems like they could do some rough sorting by the date on the label. This waiting 2 weeks for a package is for the birds.

If you have walls of crates of parcels, then half the battle in sorting is getting to them. I was told that there were so many that were undeliverable because of businesses in lockdown that they are getting onto those now, and not all places can take deliverys at all times so no point putting those onto a van when the company its going to is closed at 7pm which is when deliveries are still happening.

Just checked all the items I sold on Trade Me last week. Both Courier Post items picked up 11th of May have been delivered (Matamata & Oamaru).
Fastway: 2 items picked up 11th May and one on the 8th of May are still in Hamilton. One item picked up 11th of May was delivered to Carterton 12th of May. One item picked up 8th of May just turned up in Christchurch.

Basically, she's a lucky dip. Cross your fingers and stare at the mail box in anticipation.

I'll be checking mine this weekend, despite a redirect it looks like it's probably going to go to its original destination, I hope.

Pleased to see two items I've been watching like a hawk are out for delivery this morning. Can't help but wonder if it has to do with the two customer service enquiries I submitted day before yesterday.

Yesterday's mighty ape parcel was at my desk this morning. So clearly the backlog is not being added to.

I've had my sent parcel race through the system and it's made its way from AKL-CHC in a few short days...now out for delivery.

My receiving parcels however are a different story...no idea where my bike lights are.

My shoes have arrived (but website says they're delayed and they know about it)

My son's order from across town arrived last week...currently says it's been picked up from sender...no other details

I ordered some clippers on the 8th May - so that's 7 days ago. status is below.

Basically, they are further away now than they were when I ordered them (I live on the North Shore and they are in South East Auckland now)

We live 10mins from Mightyape, yet parcels ordered start of week have to go to Albany first, then come back again. Should arrive today but not holding my breath.....

Heard from others sending locally, who have had their parcels turn up in Christchurch with labels on them saying its a rural address altho its only going 10km down the road in a suburban area :D
