NZ Couriers took 4 working days to deliver an Auckland to Auckland parcel. I gave them an absolute serve - their people couldn't care less.

Is there a rule that courier companies have to be scumbags?

I'm *still* waiting for my new glasses; which come from Australia.  They were due LAST Thursday.

The stupidly annoying thing is that according to the store's tracking, they are actually in NZ already -  apparently just on the donkey-cart coming from Auckland that has replaced the old-fashioned-yet-efficient courier network...

They left customs and into the bumbling paws of the donkey-crew last Friday.

Given that they've still not arrived, I'm inclined to think actual snails are involved in the snail-mail now; my apologies for disparaging the performance of donkeys.

Turns out NZ Post were trying to contact me due to a wrongly addressed letter for me, not my boy's game (sadly).

Did you take the chance to ask about it, since you finally had them on the phone? Or did they say "Sorry, not our department?"

No they called my mobile but I didn't speak to them and couldn't be flagged calling them back.

Well, NZP/CP strike again for me. In March/April I ended up complaining to their CEO's office about an ongoing series of events where the local contractor kept leaving signature required items and signing "Authorities to Leave" when I gave no such thing. Today they went one step better. Apparently a guy whose name that I have never heard of received the item (no one was home today) at my house, and upon receiving it, just left it on "his" own porch for people to steal. Tui ad, anyone?

Another email to write to their CEO's office.

I have an item coming from Melbourne sent on the 14th of July - tracking with NZ Post app and Parcels app it shows 16/7 02:13 Departure from country of origin. Your item is in transit to NZ, but then the most recent one 16/7 14:13 shows Cleared and awaiting international departure.

The Australia Post site/app only shows the 'cleared...awaiting...' and doesn't show the previous status that is has departed. I know to expect delays, I was just wondering what might be going on here. Is the Australia post site slow with updates or something triggered a false notification it had been sent?

So an update on my complaint to NZP about their **** courier driver(s) who keeps dropping off my signature required items on an highly visible porch and forging ATLs or signing off deliveries as received by non-existent people. Whilst they are investigating my complaints, a driver (maybe the same guy) did it again. I wish I was making this up.

It seems CourierPost are taking full advantage of "Contactless Delivery" protocols that were in place during Level 3&4. Almost everything is dumped on the doorstep here now, with no effort to obtain a signature, or even ring the doorbell. Now that we're in L1, it's time they changed back to what was expected and paid for.

Also, even months later, some deliveries from overseas are spending well over a week between arriving at Auckland, and getting across town to the North Shore. Useless.

Can someone please enlighten me to what airline process handling means? There is no explanation for the status on the NZPost help page and I have not experienced that particular status update in the past 8 parcels I've had sent from overseas/Australia.
*just after posting this the status changed to international arrival, the airline process handling had confused me because it showed Auckland as the location.

Airline Processing Handling is where New Zealand customs are sent a copy of the aircraft's manifest for customs.

The DHL equivalent is "Customs Status Changed'

Don't just stand for this and don't bother to complain to their call centre either as they will do everything possible to obstruct your legitimate complaints. Write to their CEO (find his name here - just helping to avoid the poor person being subjected to spam bots. His e-mail is first name.last name@nzpost.co.nz) and executive.complaints@nzpost.co.nz.

An update on my situation: they've advised that the driver involved in my latest two incidents have been suspended and the owner of the courier run given a performance notice. It's a start but still completely unsatisfactory. This owner of the run was only subject to action after multiple frauds by their own employees. It seems that fraud does pay.

Thank you for this information. Most of my complains about NZ Post don't seem to go anywhere so I will be sure to follow up issues via these addresses in the future.

While it hasn't happened in quite a while, I too have had experiences with the local delivery branch falsifying information with Card To Call cards being sent out alongside my regular mail claiming the package couldn't be delivered for BS reasons. When I called to complain, I was told they had better things to be doing than delivering my mail... the thing they are paid to do.

Something similar happened again recently, with two Card To Call cards being left. I filled out the online forms and one of the packages, which did not require a signature in the first place, remained undelivered for over a week despite my following it up after every single promised delivery date was not met.

What was the reason for non-delivery? Too big for letterbox. This is where I found it...

And don't even think about using them for Trademe's package sending. Had a package sitting out in the letterbox for over a week during Stage 3, called several times and was assured it'd be picked up "tomorrow" or "later today", after a week of this we drove to a post office and posted it there when it became obvious they were never going to pick it up. Luckily the buyer was pretty understanding about it.

Latest update. I have now busted NZP’s driver (he works for the same contractor that I have been talking about) signing off my neighbour’s package as being received by them. The whole neighbourhood is furious.

As usual they acknowledge these emails from me but just can’t seem to control these fraudsters. And that’s after escalating to the CEO’s office. If there’s a pack of individuals on this earth with less integrity, please let me know. I haven’t met them.
