How can an item be handed to the driver at 1.35 PM and five minutes later show a "delivery attempted - collection required"?
The driver never attempted a delivery.

Sort of related - NZ Post increasing the price of sending letters (people still do this?):
Sounds like typical Post Office logic. Increase the costs ands wonder why the volume goes down..
You're right, but they're also right, when there is less post to deliver, the postie that may have in the past delivered say 5 letters to your address at a time, and get "paid" 5x the postage, but then say now he only has 1 letter to deliver, now he does the same amount of work for 1 letter, but gets 5x less $$.

I have had a parcel at the Wiri NZ Post depot since the 30th from Samsung NZ. I'm guessing the are still on a break? Target delivery was yesterday (to Christchurch).

They're still on break (back to normal hours tomorrow), someone just forgot to update the automated eta.
Typical. I have one that's on day 12 of sitting in Auckland, unmoving. And never mind my other one that's been jammed since 23 November that they're still "investigating"...
ZollyMonsta: I’m still waiting for my package being ‘accessed’ which was meant to be delivered on 15th December…(NZ Post)
Is it an overseas one? What do they mean by accessed?

Here we are on day 13. According to the tracking, it's still sitting in Auckland. It's actually on my desk here in Whakatane.
NZ Post Track & Trace is a marketing gimmick gone wrong.
Thanks for explaining "plethora".
It means a lot.
Not Courierpost but same parent company.
Mrs Floyd's friend put a Christmas card in the mail in Carterton during the week before Christmas, it was delivered to us in Porirua on Tuesday 18 Jan.
(Average speed as the crow flies approx. 0.075km/h 🤣)

It's really just a "proof of delivery" tool.
DHL and FedEx (DHL especially), give really detailed breakdowns of what's going on with your package (e.g departed airport, arrived at airport etc). Unlike NZ Post where it is just a pick up and delivery scan.

I did ask NZPost about this, as they appear to have more info internally, and they said they are working on making more details public. But this was at least a year ago... so idk if it'll happen.
have to give courier post a bouquet, i live in Rotorua and my parcel was sent from Christchurch Thursday to Hamilton and it arrived at 3.40 am Friday, i got it 7.30 Friday morning. they can do it when they want to.
Common sense is not as common as you think.
