TechnoGuy001:

I did ask NZPost about this, as they appear to have more info internally, and they said they are working on making more details public. But this was at least a year ago... so idk if it'll happen.

Yeah I went through the NZ Post investigations process, and they apparently weigh the package multiple times as it makes its way through airports (also multiple scans I presume).

I would definitely appreciate it if more information could be displayed on the tracking page.

Not really courier post related, but does anyone know how Castle Parcels is still in business?

It's somewhat confusing when they fall under the same company as NZ Couriers and Post Haste, but man their delivery times and customer service are absolutely atrocious. I don't seem to be alone when you look at reviews on various platforms.

CourierPost must have run out of drivers!

2 Parcels sitting at the Christchurch Depot since yesterday morning.

Last 4 deliveries by CourierPost here have all been by different drivers.

Last weeks driver said he was only doing it that week, and didn't know who would do it from then on!

(Upper Riccarton, Christchurch delivery)

They probably left it at some random place somewhere on your property, signed for it themselves (this happens a lot), and then disappeared as the job is probably considered completed.

Now this is bad

Been sitting with the carrier for 3 and a bit weeks now. NZpost says its not their problem and there is a delay with outbound cargo. Its a small 15x15x15cm box

An A4 envelope with documents booked on international courier service with a 3-6 working day delivery target... Hmmmm. 13 working days and it hadn't even left NZ. Took 3 days to sort, another 6 to get it in a can, and then another 4 working days + Sat to get it loaded. Meanwhile, Aus Post managed to get it sorted and delivered to Canberra 2 working days after arrival.

To add: I called on 26/01 to find out what was happening and was promised a call back from the international dispatch team. That never happened. Called again on 26/01 and after being placed on hold a couple of times I was told it would be departing on either Friday 28/01 or Saturday 29/01. So at least that part held up. I just wonder whether it would have still been sitting there if I hadn't called.

There are not enough flights and space for things, calling them will not make the airlines run more planes at a loss just to carry mail. Hopefully with the MIQ going away for AU passengers that will get more space from there to here, not that it will help the China mail delays but its a start. Assuming that enough people are dumb enough to travel at the moment which it seems they are.

Given all the complaints about poor service from courier companies, I wanted to give my experiences with one I'd never heard of until now, Onsend, for a slightly larger item that couldn't be sent via the usual Fastway/Aramex/etc. Picked up Thursday afternoon, text to confirm delivery details and time on Saturday morning, phonecall from the driver Saturday morning to notify when they'd be there, and delivery on time with friendly, helpful delivery guys.

Who is this company, and why don't they already own the entire NZ market?

I've never heard of them either. I'm guessing that if the destination isn't one of the big cities then it probably gets handed over to the usual jokers though...

From what little I could find out about them they seem to be a fairly recent NZ startup (seed funding in 2019) so they've built their operation from the ground up for automation and data-driven operations rather than bolting it on piece by piece as others have.
