My tracking number is showing fine?
PolicyGuy:
I've been seeing this all day:
Is it just me, or has NZ Post got its IT knickers completely in a twist?
I've not had any issues with NZPost's Tracking page today, but do get this a few times a month for varying degrees of time, usually resolves within an hour/day
It also keeps asking me to login every 5mins. There website never was there strong suit.
😮
Instead of clicking the 'refresh' button, I closed the browser tab and opened a new one.
Worked fine, the parcel has been delivered.
Seems the form doesn't work too well if there's any kind of issue.
Sigh
JaseNZ:
I have had an apple item sitting in Auckland for 48 hours with DHL.
Came from Aussie and arrived in aucks the following day.
Never seen this with DHL they are normally spot on.
Is supposed to be coming to chch.
Mine from DHL has still not turned up, Was stuck in Auckland since the 13th and only just moved chch today so guess I will see it Tuesday.
I can only assume they are short staffed. I would be pissed if I was expecting it within a couple of days.
Edit: Just looked now and its on hold, What is that all about ??

I have a good news courier story for once - I ordered something on Wednesday, sent from Tauranga to Auckland and it was delivered today, after being picked up yesterday. Now that's fairly quick.
It's like they're routing Internet packets and everything is required to go through an IXP to get anywhere...
Just FYI
There has been a report , on a local FB crimewatch page
Of criminals redirecting Courier Deliveries to other addresses , via the couriers web page
Confirmed at least once ( redirected to a pickup point ) and supposedly the courier company confirmed its a real issue
So , keep checking your tracking info , every day .

That the post on the glenfield one or on another page?
Makes me very concerned if they're doing that as when using bags and tickets, the numbers are sequential so very easy to guess if you have one parcel from the company.

Many people will put the tracking code in a trade me users feedback. It is crazy that their system could allow a package to be redirected. solely using the tracking number.
It's not possible, at least not via the official redirect link. It requires you to give the original delivery address.
Also you can't redirect a parcel to anywhere, it has to be within x km of the original destination. (I think like 75km).

OK , haven't tried it myself, but did see the redirect option being available from just knowing the tracking number. But if the person knew the address of the person on trademe, such as from a previous trade, and were watching their feedback, and could could get it delivered nearby, then I could see it being open to abuse.

Looking at the FB post.
The guy has 8 parcels redirected , bypassing the original adress requirement
Courier investigators said has been a recent massive increase in online redirects
So I bet a bug/hole in the online system allowing redirects when it shouldnt
Or someone in the courier company doing some redirects & thieving on the side .

Wouldn't be surprised if there is. I stumbled across some info that shouldn't be visible to the public a few months ago and wasn't even trying, imagine what someone motivated could find out. (I would report it, but it's such a pain going through there support pages. If someone from NZPost has a verified account here I'm happy to share it, it's still active)
That and last few months, it feels like NZPost's system goes down for "maintenance" like every other week. Used to be a very rare occurrence.
Also they launched a brand new tracking page a few months ago, but rolled it back within like a few days (it was a pain to use).
Looks like this tracking number issue has come to widespread attention at last:
