NZPost have NO IDEA where my parcel is! (As of Midday today) Nothing further heard from them, and I had to call them to get that info!

The CSR even admitted that they were aware of problems with their IVR, and said "Oh, they haven't fixed it then!"

Due to covid causing shiiping delays over the past 2 years I've held back on Aliexpress orders. My first Aliexpress order in 2 years according to their site tracking arrived at destination country on 26/4 but the NZPost tracking shows 11/5 - which is likely to be more accurate? Is there a pre-customs clearance process that may trigger it as having arrived when it actually hasn't? As of today their tracking shows out for delivery but being Saturday I'm not optimistic, but the NZPost tracking is still showing 11/5 in transit to local depot.

I understand it was free low cost shipping that will be a low priority but I'm just trying to understand how long the process takes from arriving in NZ. Is it likely to have been here since 26/4 and they just take their sweet time as it rates as low priority/profit for them or did it actually only arrive on 11/5? I do try various tracking to find more details.

which is likely to be more accurate?

Typically both, the aircraft carrying your parcel likely arrived at the earlier date and it was then handed to NZ Post at the later date.

I get parcels via EMS, from the scan times and data (sometimes tracking gives the airline which it was handed to, either Air NZ or China Southern for my stuff from Guangzhou) I can often track (on FlightRadar24) the specific flight's departure and arrival without question.  Typically lately the flight will arrive in Auckland, and it's several days for it to get scanned into NZ Posts system.

I wonder if customs is the hold up and not NZ Post?

KiwiSurfer:

I wonder if customs is the hold up and not NZ Post?

They come over in consolidated sacks in the planes and are then put into the NZ post system here which is why they always have the PO box out near the airport as a return address covering the lies they tell customs.

The overseas freight companies are throttled in how many NZ post will take each day like all large users of the service are when things get busy, and things are constantly busy for NZ post. They are handling it a lot better than over lockdowns at least but when you see delays on next day couriers, you know that it is bad and the slower services are backlogged even more.

Did NZPost forget to unload the parcels the first time the plane arrived?

At least the replacement cables (I ordered to replace the ones NZPost have NO IDEA where they are for over 2 weeks since leaving Auckland for Christchurch) are in the Country!

I wonder if these ones will make it?

I understand covid has caused various delays but for 20 years we've all been told online shopping would be the way of the future and it's been so slow to prepare for it. Even pre-covid international parcels were increasing in numbers all the time.

Just received!

Thank you for your enquiry.

We can confirm that this item "Tracking Number Removed"  arrived into New Zealand on the 29/04/22 but has not yet been handed over to New Zealand Post for delivery. We have conducted searches at you local delivery depot but have not located this parcel.

If you are concerned that this item has passed its delivery time and should have been delivered by now, we recommend that you contact the sender and ask them to open an enquiry or claim with the postal service they've used to send this item.

NZPost Tracking that is accurate does NOT exist!

Sheesh: How many time does the flight need to arrive before they actually unload it?

They lost the first one between Auckland and Christchurch, this is a re-ordered shipment I'm waiting on!

(I had no faith in the other one arriving after a week ex Auckland and no update, so re-ordered the cables)

I've had one that's arrived five times so far over a period of three days.

And it's just arrived again today for the sixth time in a row.

The tracking seems to be perfect as long as it's in China, then as soon as it gets to NZ it either falls into a black hole with no status or updates, or you get a pile of gibberish results.

Maybe the six arrivals of the same item are to compensate for the zero tracking of five other items.

Try running the number thru https://parcelsapp.com/ the NZPost app has a limited number of responses and quite often i've had parcels is loaded into "customs" prior to it even leaving china which I've had show up as "Flight Arrival" before

Most problems are the result of previous solutions...

This was my latest order from Amazon AU. I opened a case with NZ Post and after chasing them for an answer, they eventually told me they never received it in their network. I don't think that is quite true, considering they are integrated with Amazon AU as the delivery partner. Amazon ended up replacing the item and the replacement arrived fine. I think this is the first time I have actually had NZ Post lose an item (have had two lost with Aramex before).
