Well this is.... interesting. Bumped around more than a dodgem.
OK, I think we have all made the point that shipping things from China is not going well these days, and that however cheap the item is, it's useless if it never turns up.
I recently started ordering my small electronic parts from https://nz.rs-online.com/. They sell all kinds of electronic parts. They sometimes have minimum order numbers for parts, and sometimes they are dearer than Aliexpress etc, but they have free shipping with no minimum order !!
Great prices for misc small parts, transistors, diodes, resisters etc, not so good for higher priced items like SBC's, ESP32 / ESP8266 etc type modules.
Delivery in my experience takes no more than a couple of days.
To compare, https://nz.mouser.com/ has a USD50 minimum order if you want free shipping.
RS are a worldwide company but they usually ship from Auckland or Australia, and cos they use DHL, no delays from Aussie so far. They actually advertise "Free Next Working Day Delivery for ANZ warehouse stock" [whatever that means]. Note that they do, ambiguously, reserve the right to charge for delivery for small orders (>$125) in their terms and conditions, but I haven't been charged recently.
OK, back to beating up on Aliexpress...
Where oh where is this package (continued from above screenshot) ?!!?
Out for delivery on Christmas day? Dream on. I might file a dispute for this one, it's $90 worth.

+1 for RS and similar like Element14, Mouser, etc. Another bonus with them is that you know you're getting (with high probability) genuine high-quality items rather than suspect versions off eBay or outright fakes off Ali.
networkn: Anyone have recent experience shipping with Alex press and FedEx IP or whatever it's called?
Fedex no problems
AVOID Aliexpress Standard shipping its coming via SEA POST! 2 months guaranteed stopped buying from aliexpress and now using a forwarder (Superbuy) and then shipping all at once with EMS costs about the same if you combine with mates.

AVOID Aliexpress Standard shipping its coming via SEA POST! 2 months guaranteed ...
I wonder why they changed AIR to SEA... I order few items at the beginning of November and Aliexpress Standard shipping took anything between 7-14 days to arrive. But mid November-December - it's just slow as... given track update said it's AIR FREIGHT, but airplane took just over a month to land in NZ :D

The reason for the change would be along the lines of this whole thread - shipping costs are currently astronomical (both sea and air), and currently airfreight costs out of Asia even using the big carriers are around 3-4x normal.
One would assume they can't justify this big increase.
It's becoming a pain, you can't even open disputes for some orders, all you get is wait till this date and then open one. However I noticed on 1 order that was outstanding for months it told me to wait till the 18th December to open dispute. Waited and then went to open one on the 20th and couldn't because they had closed the order and the dispute button was gone. It seems some shipping types now won't let you open disputes until months after it should have turned up and then only give you like a small window after that date to do it.
Shipping for this order was with Cainiao and the tracking is still on "Accepted by last mail carrier" from 29/09/2020
Stuck on "Ready to Send" in Auckland since before Christmas. Insert much swearing here

You have merely been assigned a tracking number in NZPosts system but it has not arrived in New Zealand use the UBI website you can also email them they tell you what date it's expected to arrive
Pretty sure it's sitting with a local agent who must be on holiday. The tracking updated to say it arrived in Auckland about two months after departing China. Been using Package Ninja at someone (in here's) suggestion

I would be ok with seapost if they were honest about what was going on. I have had so many things just going around in circles in China, or else blatent lies that its with last mile carrier more than once that I have just stopped buying on aliexpress. I hope that a lot of people are doing the same so they start to hurt and will do something about the lying sellers.
