Same seller for 2 separate orders disputed my refund after 3 months but eventually AliExpress intervened. The wait time for my last outstanding order from beginning of November has been pushed out to 4 months.
they must be losing a lot of customers.

I have gone from a majority of my $100 a week toy budget going there, to almost nothing. Last order was 2 more bug zapper tubes since I couldnt find any local sites to buy from. Probably be here in time for next summer. Hardly a fun new toy.

Im almost done with aliexpress
ther are SOME good honest sellers on ali, but in the minority from my experiences

too many dishonest sellers
fake tracking numbers (twice now)
selling things that are now longer available: OK mistakes happen, but they do nothing when its obvious it cant be sent
wont reply to queries about missing orders or orders never sent
try it on & wait until you file a dispute , in the hope you will just give up
not ACTUALLY getting the refund after dispute is ruled in your favour (recently happened for me)
sellers being dodgy when you want refund , wanting to use a dodgy payment method for refund (had that)
making it to hard to contact a human in support to resolve ongoing issues

I think we have to assume there a good chance of never getting the goods , then the pain of having to deal with them
I'll go back to ebay. At least ebay & paypall are easier to deal with .

Interesting you say that.... As I just bought something from Aliexp and used Paypal! Something must've changed recently, so there's a little bit more of reassurance now.

After apparently arriving in NZ on Dec. 19, my package from Aliexpress was delivered today. I opened it to find another package, with an Uzbekistan Post label on it. It seems to have gone via Tashkent.

Go figure. Traveling vicariously through our Aliexpress impulse buys 😂

Yeah, i saw that as well

Im pretty sure Aliexpress used to have the paypal option many years back, but paypal dumped them because of too many dodgy sellers & too many issues with buyers wanting paypal refunds .
So how long will the paypall option last on aliexpress before paypal dumps them again.  It could be more trouble than its worth for them .

If its a $5 - $10  widget , then sure I'll take the chance with aliexp. But anything costing more than that I'll look elsewhere & pay more .

They have always had paypal if you were a US customer, so if I was on VPN at the time it would offer it till I tried to use it with the NZ address and then it would fail.

my 2cents - I had a package arrive this week which was ordered in November, 58 days.  Not unexpected since the postal delays and causes were already apparent by then, and no inconvenience to me.  Also the seller, Viofo, seems great.

Have 4 orders under the same departed date all aliexpress standard shipping had one arrive today so it does seem like that shipment has finally arrived in the country.

Hmm, interesting you should mention that. On the 4 or so occasions that I've requested refunds I've got them and seen the money back on my credit card within a few days (certainly within a week). However I haven't received my last refund:

Oct 11: Bought item
Oct 13: Seller says item shipped
Jan 11: Item still not arrived so request refund
Jan 15: Seller suggests I should wait another 20 days
Jan 16: AliExpress steps in and judges that I should get the refund
Jan 16: AliExpress processing the refund

As at Jan 28 nothing has shown up on my credit card.

I thought it was AliExpress that handles the refund, not the seller? After all, the seller doesn't have my credit card details. Or does AliExpress try to get the money from the seller before they give me the refund?

It usually takes about 3 days for refunds to show up on my cc. Recent experience was just last week.

Also check the original transaction as in my case they have reversed the transaction rather than issue a refund.

My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
